Langford vs Arnfield - who wins?
I don't see a post here about the fight.
I interviewed both fighters recently and both seem up for the fight - Who do you think wins and why?
Few quotes:
Langford: "Jack Arnfield has got nothing to beat me."
Arnfield: "“He got poleaxed against Khurtsidze, I’ve got nothing to beat him? We’ll see on February 17th” "

Decent domestic clash this. I'll go for Langford to take it on points, close.

Langford, close and competitive but clear
Re: Langford vs Arnfield - who wins?
feel like this could be a snoozer
Re: Langford vs Arnfield - who wins?
I want Jack to win as hes from my hometown and a few of my pals were at school with him but being honest Ive got Langford by close decision.
Arnfield is effective, hes got a good jab and accurate straight shots.Hes improving fight by fight, the way hes boxing hes not really trying to find the big shots but he showed theres some level of power there when he chinned Mick Hall whos a tough lad never been stopped.
Langford blows hot and cold for me,I actually prefer it when he comes and sticks it on a guy and attacks the body.He looked strong to me a few fights back but then didnt follow it up.Its frustrating.Langford will get the nod I reckon but only if he comes with that more aggressive style that I think might sway the judges.
The fact that this is happening on the Groves v Eubank undercard makes this feel a more neutral fight, infact with Langford coming to the northwest its probably more in Arnfields favour.

Re: Langford vs Arnfield - who wins?
So FW couldn’t win purse bid v Steve Wood ?
Re: Langford vs Arnfield - who wins?
Pretty much or they didnt try.
Thats Walsh v Lowe they lost purse bids to Steve Wood for,Arnfield v Langford and they lost out to David Haye for Askin v Simmons.
I dont even know if these guys are still with Frank or not,i saw a few weeks ago talk of him cutting his stable a bit but not fully sure who actually went.
Re: Langford vs Arnfield - who wins?
According to WBN, the Hayemaker bid is absolutely huge and dwarfed Frank's six figure bid.LancashireLoyal wrote: ↑17 Jan 2018, 16:25Pretty much or they didnt try.

Good fight this. I see Langford winning clearly on points.
I had Ryder beating Arnfield comfortably on my card.
Re: Langford vs Arnfield - who wins?
Arnfield has really earned his shot.
Tough pick, they both carry a lot of desire to win. Langford points.

Re: Langford vs Arnfield - who wins?
It was a huge purse considering,it was a British title fight. Having said that Askin is now signed with Hayemaker,so he was expecting it.ozzy1875 wrote: ↑18 Jan 2018, 06:57According to WBN, the Hayemaker bid is absolutely huge and dwarfed Frank's six figure bid.LancashireLoyal wrote: ↑17 Jan 2018, 16:25Pretty much or they didnt try.

Re: Langford vs Arnfield - who wins?
Haye has done that previous when hes offered a lot more than other promoters, maybe down to inexperience as a promoter.
I remember he did it with Paul Appleby who was the British champion at the time. It was rumoured at the time it was the biggest ever British purse when he won the Appleby vs Martin Lindsay fight.

Giving Ryder a tough fight win or lose is good form.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑18 Jan 2018, 09:29Walsh is a free agent now.LancashireLoyal wrote: ↑17 Jan 2018, 16:25Pretty much or they didnt try.

Ryder would pummel Langford
I definitely favour Arnfield here, Langford lost to Speedy Sam Sheedy on my card!

Be interesting to see how the Khurtzidze loss has affected Tommy.

Khurtzidze was/is a bit of a freak. I don't think it will do anything to Tommy, other than refocus.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑05 Feb 2018, 14:11 Langford points for me.

I got Langford on points, but not wide.

Re: Langford vs Arnfield - who wins?
This is a pick 'em fight, really struggling to pick a winner, I think it almost certainly goes the distance, neither guy known for their power and both fairly similar and go about their work in similar fashion
I wouldn't be surprised if Langford win but I lean slightly towards Arnfield, he has great wins over Ryder and Rose and is in good form since losing to Blackwell, I'm not sure how Langford has been affected by the stoppage to Khurtsidze
Close close fight but Arnfield has the edge, could see it being split or even a draw but I'm siding with Arnfield just

Re: Langford vs Arnfield - who wins?
Had Langford winning 117-111 which is probably a bit harsh on Arnfield as there were a few rounds especially in the 1st half of the fight which could've gone his way, I just preferred a lot of Langford's work, he jabbed well, moved around the ring well and I thought pretty much all the eye catching shots came from him and he finished stronger and busier and his inside work was better
Arnfield did have success at times with the jab but not as much as he needed to win this fight and I thought he waited too long to get his shots off, I'm not surprised all the judges scored even rounds, I'm sure there people with a lot closer cards than mine
