Area Titles
Does anyone know why there are only 3 northern Area champions while the other 12 weights are vacant? The other areas such as Central, Southern and Midlands have almost every other weight category with a champion.
Is there an issue with the northern area?

Re: Area Titles
There are only 2 currently, Liam Conroy is now English Champion.
Midlands and NI has a lot vacant too.
Southern area Cruiserweight must be the busiest area title.
Re: Area Titles
I really would like to see a lot more Area titles being contested, they do have a certain value but fighters these days seem to prefer fighting for the IBO Intertoto Tutti-Frutti belt
Re: Area Titles
Area titles are great, world titles for the club fighters, and most fighters would be happy to have the opportunity for chump change.
Unfortunately a lot of areas don't have a lot of shows and bigger promoters don't tend to bother with them.
I have always thought that the area councils should push harder to have them pit on. They really would help to generate a lot of local interest.

Re: Area Titles
Agree coco I feel the bbboC should do something more official with the area championships....such as declare all area champions as eligable to fight for British title...so even a journeyman knows he's potentially two fights from a British title shot
.. not as mandatory, but sanctionsble

Re: Area Titles
Super 8 series being done in the Midlands for the super feather title over 3 shows. Great idea.

Cause fighters or their teams don't want to take tough fights for a area title. They would rather take easier fights till British title level.
