Dann vs Williams... No TV?

Post by stujones »

Sounds crazy, excluding Howard Eastman these are the best two middles... This cracker of a fight has been scheduled for WEDNESDAY 7th of June, Barry Hearn is promoting it. As of yet, it doesn't look like it will be on TV.

I hope Hearn can strike a deal with Bravo or Setanta... Forget the crappy coverage of Bravo - this is a must see fight.

Looks like the following fights will be on UK TV.

Kelly's EBU Title challenge this Friday.

Michael Hunter vs Guartos 28th/4/06

John Murray vs TBA - 5/5/06

Daws vs Wright - 12/5/06

Froch vs Magee - 26/5/06

Power vs Ward (Tuesday) 30/5/06

Cook vs Diaz - 16/6/06

Haye vs TBA - 30/6/06

Johannsen vs Corcoran - 28/7/06

Of course there will be a fair few ITV (Warren) bills and probably a Sky PPV also.

Hope your right, why should the World cup affect Sky's boxing schedule?

Sky, all the fights I have listed should be on Sky.

There are ITV and Sky PPV's that I didn't include.

Its a guarantee!

A lot of Boxing fans like their football also - and if there is football on - the live gate will suffer and also the tv viewing audience!

Trust me!

I know us boxing fans are desperate for outstanding matches like Dann-Williams to be shown on Sky TV, but PLEASE can we show some patience. These things take time to sort out and just becuase the show is not on Sky's listing yet (which is almost two months away I might add) doesn't mean it won't be on there at some point.

The title of this post paints a negative picture, when in fact other signs indicate we have every reason to positive and can look forward to this cracker. :TU:

What do we prefer, the likes of Warren always promising the earth but with an end result that rarely looks the same OR having to wait a bit longer but receive what's been advertised ???

The fight is on SKY. The reason its on a Weds night is because of the World Cup.

He did say initially that he was looking to be out again in May - but that was when the fight was due for around July time.

I would guess not - but may text and see - if I hear back I will post it !

Yeah, I suppose 7th June is not too far away now and could be risky fitting in another contest. One fight since November 2004 is hardly ideal preparation though. Didn't Matchroom promote last weeks show? Would have hoped Williams could have been given even a 6 rounder on the undercard.

Thanks D.G. , keep us posted. :TU:
