Crawford vs Horn set!

Post by imaioral »

Crawford's welterweight debut is now set. Will be vs Jeff Horn. :yay:

IMO will be a nice fight for testing Crawford at such weight class, but not a super opponent for him. On the other hand, Horn improved so much in last 5 bouts but never faced a younger and highly skilled opponent in his life, let's just hope he doesn't play dirty as did vs Pacquiao.

What do you think about it? :bag:

Foregone conclusion. Crawford's career to date is without excitement. Another fight I can take or leave.

If Crawfords time at light welter is anything to go by he will try and grab as many belts as possible at welter, got no problem with Horn, he is the champion after all and a naturally bigger guy, Crawford wins this and grabs a belt to tempt the other champs with.

At this point, Crawford will still have problems luring the Haymon fighters, who make up the bulk of the top names at welter.

With the mindset of competing promotions, Crawford represents very high risk but questionable reward since he's not exactly a household name among casual fans.

Maybe he should hope that his fight with Horn is somewhat more competitive than expected (Crawford is a 16-1 favorite). Then he could have a return go with the Aussie in the fall.

Is there a return bout clause in the contract?

Other than Horn, a matchup with Pacquiao is very possible. That is, if Pacquiao is interested at this stage of his career.

Horn will make it as dirty and bloody fight as possible . He's a tough brave lad but Crawford is far too skilled for him.

Crawford hasn't officially accepted the fight yet, has he?

Apparently all the I's haven't been dotted or the T's officially crossed but there doesn't appear to be any roadblocks to this fight taking place in April.

I doubt Crawford has any interest in turning it down.

I don't think Horn can be totally written off like most are doing. He will make it ugly if he can, and if the ref allows it, he may last to the late rounds. Crawford is too skilled and slick for him though. Horn is about an inch taller, had a good punch, and may be a bit bigger on fight night, but won't matter much.

We have yet to see Crawford absorb a solid punch from a big welterweight, but I don't think Horn is that guy.
