I just love a nom de guerre. :box:

Had to check boxrec, I had no idea L 'H' P was called "havoc" - he doesn't make enough of it.

Barry Hunter is my new favourite trainer.
Compassionate and thoughtful and perfectly timed retirement.

Very good fight overall. Round 5 was a top round! Spence broke Peterson down.

Had it 70-62 for Spence.

Peterson didn't do enough in any round.

Here's hoping Spence fights 2 more times this year.

He's incredible.
Good call from Bunce - next year's superfight is Crawford vs Spence.
Can't wait :box:

Spence is an elite world class fighter because when he wins the world title hes defending against top drawer fighters, unlike our own fighters.

Why the hate for British boxers in general? That's an unfair blanket statement.

World wide some fighters are happy to pick up a strap and make some safe money. Others are ambitious and strive to test themselves against the best.....And there are British boxers who fit into both camps. Some have been content to sit on a world title, others have been eager to make big fights.

Congrats on the baby.
For me it was African footballers' names the missus rejected.

I’ve always liked the names Salif or Benjani

Most are content to sit on a world title though. If Brook had beaten Spence, there’s no way in the world he’d be taking on Peterson in his first defence. He’d probably end up fighting JoJo Dan in a rematch.

It's true! 100%, he'd make an easy voluntary. Spence's resume at 147 is already stronger than Brook's IMO..

Algieri, Bundu, Brook, Peterson

Peterson as a first defence pisses on Dan, Gavin and Bizier.

Another top notch performance from Spence, totally outclassed Peterson, too quick, sharp, fresh and he throws every punch in the book, I thought his body punching was excellent and he showed good patience there and really broke Peterson down, credit to Peterson he took his lumps and never quit, he took a right pasting especially after the KD in the 5th, lovely right hook from Spence

Good call from Barry Hunter to stop the fight, Peterson was never gonna turn it around and there was a long way to go

Spence is just a fkin badass. I love how polished and technical he is for such an aggressive fighter, he keeps his guard up and blocks/slips shots well, and he never over-commits to his shots so he's always on-balance. A fighter with that level of aggression, and technical polish and plenty of god given talent with it, that's just a nightmare to face. Oh and a southpaw with a brutal ramrod jab to boot.

I've said before I think he would brutalise Thurman, I think he's the better fighter anyway but more than that the style is bad for Thurman, who I think needs time to think and compose himself. I think Spence would actually do fine boxing with Thurman from he outside and that jab would give anyone problems.

Most are but not all.....and lets be honest now I like Peterson but he's not a monster, he's been beaten several times so Spence was widely expected to win. Don't get me wrong I like Spence's ambition, but I just don't see the need to bash British fighters in general on the back of Spence beating Peterson.

Crolla went in with Linares, Burns will fight anybody, I think its harsh to be critical of Brook when he fought GGG and Spence back to back, DeGale took on a selection of quality opposition, Groves tests himself against the best, Joshua's resume is pretty impressive considering he's still a novice really, Dillian Whyte will battle anyone, etc etc.......British boxing's strong and there is no lack of ambition generally amongst our fighters.

I'd rather he had fought Jessie Vargas in the proposed unification fight. Would have made a stronger case as a welterwight. But Brexit f*cked that fight up.

No, not so great by Barry Hunter at all.

He clearly didn’t want to stop the fight, dreams of glory while his boy got battered, and Lamont had to pretty much silently plead with him with his eyes to get him to stop the fight ( you decide B says Lamont ) Hunter shouldn’t have even asked, he could see his boy was getting a terrible beating.

Same between the previous rounds too, he should have have stopped it there.

Make me worried for the incredibly brave fighter from Washington DC - he’s taken a hell of a lot of punches in his career - you wanna see him enjoy his retirement after such a rough start in life.

What a beast!
Thurman probably dosent want any part in that. Expect Spence Vs Thurman to be another great fight that never was, or was too late.

Enjoyed the fight, spence looks better every time i see him although at times he left himself wide open to a right hand which bigger punchers than peterson could’ve done some damage with. But maybe his obvious superiority was the reason he left himself open on occasion.

Liked spence’s quip in the post fight interview about Keith “sometime” Thurman. Bearing in mind spence’s excellent work to the body i think he might make short work of keith who got badly hurt to the body in some fight, was it bundu ?

Peterson’s a brave man who’s overcome a horrible start in life to make something of himself but i couldn’t give a fvck if he enjoys his retirement or not. Drugs cheats in boxing endanger other fighters’ lives.
