After 7 rounds. I had it a shutout, inc KD.. 70-62 for Spence.

He mentally and physically broke Peterson down. Peterson gave a good fight, but didn't do enough in any round.

8th Round TKO, seeing as Round 8 has began.

Peterson landed less that 50 punches throughout the fight.

Shawn Porter thought Spence would win a decision and that Peterson would come at every angle.

Spence going for GGG's record.

A terrific performance by an apparently very special fighter.

Bring on Thurman, bring on Garcia, bring on Porter. Even bring on Crawford or Pacquio if they want to jump TR ship.

Doesn't matter. Spence will reign a long time.

Good stoppage. Spence is a beast. I like his comment about "sometime" Thurman.

Yeah, I enjoyed that crack too. Spence is a thinking man's trash-talker instead of just spewing out typical trash talk. :OhYes:

That fight was a great advertisement for the sport!! Action-packed slugfest with great corner work by trainers who really care about their fighters. Peterson's trainer Barry Hunter was really torn about pulling Lamont out but cares too much about him to let him take needless punishment in a fight he had NO CHANCE to win.

It was a very predictable showdown. Spence has demonstrated a class, Peterson was trying to survive and has failed. It will be very interesting to watch Spence vs Thurman or Crawford.

Spence needs to fight at least another 2-3 times this year - he’s been to inactive since beating Brook.

Getting him matched might not be too easy - and usually the IBF have some dross in their Top 15 - Jo
Jo Dan etc.

Spence hasn't got a mandatory due yet..

1. NOT RATED
2. NOT RATED
3. Carlos Ocampo
4. Konstantin Ponomarev
5. Lamont Peterson
6. Bradley Skeete
7. Qudratillo Abduqaxorov
8. Keita Obara
9. Mohamed Mimoune
10. Rashidi Ellis
11. Ray Robinson
12. Zhankhozh Turarov
13. Carlos Molina
14. Yordenis Ugas
15. Laszlo Toth

Apart from a unification.. Who should he fight next? IMO, he stops everyone listed above. He could come back to the UK and fight Skeete?

I'm not sure if the above list has been updated, but we might get a few new entries in the next 1-2 months.

thats a shitty list

i like the look of that quadratillo but hes just like a 10 fight prospect. pederson was probably the best spence couldve fought.

I would like Spence to KO Konstantin Ponomarev.. He's just avoiding stepping up. He pulled out of the final eliminator against Spence, before Spence had to fight Bundu.

Ocampo is another unbeaten prospect. Obara isn't too bad. But you're right. IBF have always been known for a shitty top 15 list.

If you think Kell Brook got 2 Mandatory and 1 Vol defence against -

Jo Jo Dan
Kevin Bizier
Frankie Gavin (Vol)

The list actually looks better now - Christ Spence would murder those guys.

I think Spence would stop Gavin and Bizier and Dan with not much more than a threatening stare

He was well matched Brook to get those 3 defences albeit the IBF assisted with Dan/Bizier being Mandatory defences.

Spence mentioned he is (and should be) improving every time he steps in the ring, but needs to keep working on cleaning up his defense still. He took a few good shots, a couple of left hooks that I remember. A small hole in his armor possibly?

His chin seems very solid though, and with an offense like he has, I guess there is less need for defense. Unless he stops throwing punches, he will be very hard to beat. I can't even see Crawford holding up 12 rounds to his assault.

Overall though didn't punch stats- for what they are worth-Show Peterson only landed about 50 punches or fewer?
