Fortuna Post-Fight Interview

Post by diddy »

Absolutely hilarious.

His last words were: “Bullsh*t, Shut up, f*ck outta here”. The only English he spoke the entire interview. I was dying laughing.

Fortuna won that fight, by the way.

ya agree, thought fortuna won it

for some reason i thought he was american raised and only live in dr when little. though i supposed if you live in ethnic neighborhoods you can grow up in the us without needing much english

easters not as good as i first thought when he destroyed mendez unfortunately, bit lucky tonight and couldve easily lost to comney. also the shafikov fight was really close despite the ohio cards

. easter certainly doesnt have problems with the judges leaning to him in close ones

They should have given him the decision.. Easter would have retained his title, although he would have lost his unbeaten record. We know how important 0's are now.

Box-Nation were talking about how belts don't get you headlining cards anymore. Whether it's HBO, Showtime, Sky Sports, Box-Nation.. They provide these slots and performances like that, they won't give you a slot to headline.

Not true. Easter would not have kept his belt if he had lost last night. He would have been stripped and the belt would be declared "vacant",

Imo, Easter needs to use his height to his advantage better. No way should he be getting headlocked the way he was. Fortuna, by the way, is lucky he wasn't penalized for that too. Fortuna showed good movement and was a bit awkward to fight.

I thought the fight was pretty even over-all, with a slight edge to Fortuna. I have no pity for a guy that misses weight in a championship fight. Kind of Broner/Tank Davis - like. Undisciplined.

I thought that too, until the Showtime guys kept saying Easter would have retained the title regardless of result.

Dan Rafael wrote it too..

And people were saying Easter would've been a better fight than Lipinets or Figueroa. Easter could honestly be 18-3. Shafikov arguably beat him, Commey arguably beat him, and Fortuna pretty much beat him.

Linares and Mikey both beat Easter. I don't think he's even getting past his mandatory, Raymundo Beltran, I believe. Beltran knocks Easter out.

I know it's not supposed to matter for scoring but I wonder if it would have made a difference if Fortuna had made weight.
Behave like a professional and you might get treated like a professional instead of getting stiffed.

Yup! He could have regained a world title.

Fortuna's such a good fighter. Hope he can keep his head straight and doesn't screw up his career. Missing weight for a title fight is a bad omen.

Easter? He's just a guy. Certainly not a special fighter.

The lightweight division isn't stocked with terrific talent, so maybe Easter can hang onto his paper title for a while.

But don't be surprised when some ordinary contender suddenly clocks him and Easter becomes nothing more than a trial horse or gatekeeper.
