Marcus Browne has several clear wins over fighters in the #10-20 range. It is indeed time for him to fight someone a little better, like Fonfara or Joe Smith.

Let's see Kovey put it on the line and give Browne a shot, instead of playing it safe and taking on a bunch of no-hope weenies.

He reminds me of a lesser version of Chad Dawson.

Browne is as much no-hoper against Kovalev, as his previous and next opponents.

Well the guy can really whack.

And if Kovalev can be taken out by Ward----who I love but admit is no real puncher---then it's reasonable to assume that Browne is also capable of turning the trick.

Often when a fighter gets knocked out for the first time, his chin never recovers.

If true with Kovalev, then Browne has the power to send him to another KO defeat.

When did you see Kovalev knocked out or suffer a hard knockdown?

More importantly, it is easy to "really whack" against nobodies. Where was Browne's whack against Kalajdzic ?

Why are we discussing Browne vs Kovalev as if it is likely possibility. It is damn near impossible with the promoter and network conflicts. There are a few 175-lbers on the Haymon stable that are more realistic.

ya that was just thrown in by a guy who likes to take digs at kov, though to be fair i did ask who ppl would like to see him fight

kov vs browne doesnt seem very realistic though, i think browne vs alvarez may be though.

as for hot rod im disappointed he didnt get some good matches in light of his fight vs browne. they couldve built them both up then made a bigger rematch

Marcus is the top contender in the WBO and IBF, he will be mandatory soon for one of the belts. I think he is targeting Beterbiev while the WBC situation settles itself out.

brownes more skillful a boxer and has plenty of power to boot. beterbiev punches very hard but he plods and attacks often wildly. no need to act like hes totally beyond browne.

not saying browne would for surevwin but hed for sure have a good shot, id favour him to do it

Beterbiev has a huge amateur experience where he had two close fights with Kovalev and then stepped up in weight and took on Usyk. He is capable of being patient and using his boxing skills versus just using his power. A guy who couldn't beat Kalajdzic has nothing to do in the ring with Beterbiev.

Kovalev didn't get knocked out but it's telling that Ward could hurt him with a headshot.

Kovalev, easy. Browne has about 10% puncher's chance, but his own chin isn't made of stone either.

This entire argument is based on you not understanding when a fighter's prime is.
