Jesse James Hughes

Post by Taansend »

Anyone remember this one?

A journeyman from Mobile Alabama (where I wouldn't mind living) who had a record of 19-8 at one point. His last loss was to a bloke with a 15-15-3 record (although he was another very good journeyman) but the fight before that he'd beaten Tocker Pudwill who was undefeated at the time & went on to challenge Sven Ottke & Joe Calzaghe - two undefeated all time greats :TU:

Anyway, something clicked & he beat three ranked opponents (& a 21-16-2 fighter) over a ten month period before being found dead in a swamp near his hometown 18 days after his win over Nick Rupa - who 18 months later challenged Terry Norris for the unified Light Middle title.

One of his hobbies was robbing drug dealers & they think this could have been his undoing.

Anyone else have any info on this bloke?
