:OhYes: :OhYes: :OhYes:

But we may as well say 2 + 2 = 5
And the colour blue is now known as red :KO:
And a chicken is now known as a fox :TU:

As for the idea of awarding round 7 & round 8 backers equal points, why stop there? :maybe: I mean, round 9 backers were only 1 round out too so maybe they should get equal points?

Madness isn't it..... :witzend:

Don't listen, JCS! You are, as every year, doing a great job, and if anyone doesn't want to agree with your rulings, they simply should stop playing, then.

An obvious dig at me so i'll bite....

First, I'm not the only poster to raise this incorrect call, but I'm maybe the most vocal :OhYes:

I'm not ungrateful, he can make whatever rules up his wants too - it's his competition :TU:

But if I was to make a competition up with one of the rules being
i) Regardless of the official result "Big Dave" will be the deciding factor in calling the correct outcome of the fight

^^^^
It's the rules of the game fella's

Now who's wants to play the "Big Dave's" prediction thread? :box:

First come, first served.... :salut:

Kilsby is just being a downright dickbag at this point. He's twisting my words.

Do you recall the Castillo/Johnston fight?

The one where a winner was declared by the ring announcer?? But after tabulating the cards backstage, they realized it was actually scored a draw?

This is WHY I wait until the Monday after the fight.. to see what came up.

Now granted, I didn't watch Spence/Peterson LIVE. On review, it seems the only reason that the 8th round start bell even rang, is because people were not paying attention to Peterson's corner.. they clearly tried stop the fight before the bell.

Had I WATCHED the fight LIVE, I MAY have initially scored it as KO-8... then perhaps reverted back to KO-7.. as BoxRec has stuck on that. Not sure what I would have done.

What's the NY commission say at this point? The last time I looked, I couldn't find anything from them on their site... but maybe that has changed.

If this is that big of an issue that it outright invalidates the whole competition, I'll insert code to give KO-7 and KO-8 the "Same" credit in this case. Perhaps that is a stipulation to be added in the event that a fight is "stopped between rounds" but that won't even be good enough here... because of Lennon and various outlets claming the 8th round actually started.

If it isn't, fornicating move on. Don't play, play, I don't care. If you keep pissing me off, I'll just ban you from the contest..

I've no problem with you waiting to the Monday to announce a result.... No problem at all - it makes sense.

What I do have a problem with is you announcing the wrong result and still insisting your call was correct when 99.9% of websites disagree.

Even if the corner wanted to stop it after the 7th and nobody took any notice to 1 second into the 8th round, the would STILL make it a 8th round stoppage.

The very point I'm trying to argue!

Banned from a game for informing you of a clear error - ban me then if you want....

Do you reside in North Korea by any chance? Silence anyone who doesn't agree!

Laughable.

Yes, change the debate now I've made you look stupid over this farce.

Yes, I think talent doesn't exist (shock!) :oo

I could link you to about a dozen scientific studies that agree with the same principle.

But you can't have a reasonable debate with morons. Good day. :TU:

This is case where boxrec has it wrong. If the IBF has it as 8th round stoppage and so do the betting companies, then boxrec should have it as 8th round. In this case you cant blame JCS since he's using boxrec. If anyone wants to dispute the correct result, they should argue with the boxrex mods who list the results.

Let me correct you there. The Editors list the results.

Me and the other Mods have nothing to do with the actual record keeping.

Yes that's what I meant. I don't really know the details of who makes the decisions on what is put on the actual site.

I personally think it was a TKO at the end of the 7th round because there was no 8th round. That would be my personal ruling on it if it were up to me, but it's not.

As for the pick 'em game. In such bizarre circumstances it might be accurate to award both a 7th round TKO pick and an 8th round TKO pick as correct, but considering it's a computer program that does all the calculations I'd imagine that can't be done so it is what it is.

Usually results don't have such unusual disputes as this.

So.. Equal Credit for 7 & 8.

Which means a Round 9 pick is one round off.

Base Score of 29
User Bonus of 3X * Additional 5% multiplier for using a bonus and being 1 round off on KO
29*3.15=91.35 .. rounds to 91

Perfect X2.. which means someone picked round 7 or 8.

Base Score of 30
User Bonus of 2X * Additional 20% multiplier for using a bonus and having a "perfect" KO Round
30*2.4 = 72

I have plenty of humour left.... :OhYes:

C'mon JCS, lighten up.... :yay:

If anything, like someone else pointed out, this is the boxrec editors mess - and you was (incorrectly) using their failed editing as the final result.

Despite what every other boxing website on planet earth was reporting.

They put you between a rock and a hard place.

I've no hard feelings.... I just wanted common sense to be applied. :TU:
