My First Amateur Fight Coming Up!!!

Post by D. Shiznit »

Yes, it is coming on either March 31 or April 1, not sure what day yet. It is on the same card as the Cleveland Golden Gloves, but I'm not old enough to be in the Gloves, so I will just fight as basically an undercard attraction. I can't wait though, the last two nights I actually dreamed about being there, last night actually fighting (and winning of course. lol) And just to let you guys know, I probably wouldn't be here if it weren't for Boxrec's own boxmel... Thanks Melanie.

Just think guys, in twenty years, you will be making threads about me and how I was an all time great in the amateurs, and pros for that matter. lol.

Well, just thought I'd let you all know.. Any tips would be good also. Ex. boxmel told me on her website to just do my best and not try too hard. Thanks.

Peace. :box:

Goodluck, try to enjoy yourself.

What ever you learnt in the gym will go out the window and both you and your opponent will try to KO each other in the first 30 secounds with massive haymakers :TU:

Let us know what the outcome is!

Best of luck - and pace yourself well! Easy to get overexcited in your first fight.

i remember my first fight like it was yesterday it was february of '01 i was in grade seven... so 11 or 12... now i'm 17...

i was KILLING the guy for the first two rounds... not killing, but OUTBOXING you jabbing, moving i was looking really good. but i was getting tired and a lil servous and he caught me a good shot in the third round with about a minute left a body shot i went down and i got up and shit but it was stopped...

lol but i'm 17 now and i'm still boxing.

nothing wrong with getting knocked down or losing theres only something wrong with QUITTING.

1-0 Baby!!!

Yes, I won my first amateur fight. I won it by decision, but I gave the kid a standing 8 count in the first. If I wouldn't have got a little winded in the 3rd I probably could have taken him out. But I don't care, a win's a win, no matter how you do it. Great fight though, the kid was taller than me and had LONG arms, but I pulled through. I wish I wouldn't have gotten winded though because I sparred 6 rounds a day for this fight, and didn't get tired. I think it was just cause I was a little nervous and that exerted a lot of energy. Oh well.
