I'm gonna have a few beers tonight and a few joints, I'd like to stay up but i'll see how I feel come half 2, I only managed the Marcus Browne fight last week

Both routine fights for Linares and Matthysse on paper but they do have a slight banana skin edge to them, neither Gesta or Kiram have anything to suggest they can win at this level but Jorge and Lucas can be hit, hurt and stopped and the other guys have a bit of power if nothing else

Only thing I hate about California and Vegas cards is that the main event is shown in the UK around 5am, or in some cases, can be later.

Kratingdaenggym will be massive on fight night, if LM doesn't get rid early it could be a long night.
Kiram is no mug despite his padded record which is standard for thai/pinoy fighters.

Nice first round. Good intent from both boxers. Busy & fairly spiteful.

Gesta has a chance if he can make JL work for every second of every round.
Good start - 10-9 Gesta

Gesta drops the pace and suddenly Linares is doing what he wants.
29-28 Linares thru 3.

Roach tells Gesta to keep up the pace before the 4th, but he can't or won't.
Without any pressure on him Linares looks so effortless.
He wins the 4th with fluid combos - JL 39-37

The fight has settled in to a pattern now.
Gesta having his moments with wild " Pacquiao-lite" rushes. Linares defending those and controlling the fight with accurate combos.
59-55 Linares

Linares in complete control.
Gesta has world class chin and toughness, but he's nowhere near Linares in a boxing match.

Gesta has settled into sparring partner mode. Linares picks him off when he forces the fight, then picks him off when he doesn't. Gesta has run out of ideas and hasn't won a round since the first.
Linares' corner telling him, "you've won the fight, now put on a show" .

Gesta wins a round !
Linares looking tired and having a rest, Gesta's wild rushes and desire edge him the round.
98 - 92 Linares.

Linares had his rest and easily does enough to win the 11th.
He has to stay up for 3 mins to win a virtual shutout.

Linares wins the 12th with his fast hands making Gesta look clumsy - just like he's won nearly all the rounds. Good win, but dull fight.
118-112 Linares.

Surprisingly dull for a Mathysse fight - that's 'cos Kiram is outboxing and frustrating LM and refusing to engage.
