Ward v Winner of Bellew Haye?

Post by Taansend »

Pure speculation on my part but Ward has tweeted that he's 199 all muscle & is about to announce something very special.

So assuming it's boxing it's either challenging the winner of the Cruiserweight tournament - who probably won't be free until the end of the year & if it's Uysk he's more than likely moving up or he might challenge the winner of Haye Bellew, neither of whom are big heavyweights.

So, if that is the case how do you see him doing against a Bellew or a fit Haye?

He'd have probably been ktfo against a prime Haye but Hayes a broken down has been now.

I think he beats Haye handily on points right now and would probably ko Bellew if he really wanted to but AJ is a different prospect altogether, a genuine heavyweight. He wasn't an exciting fighter though and I hope he stays retired

Yeah agree. There's no way he'd be able to use his usual up close rough house stuff against the bigger guys at heavy. They'd be far too big and strong for him. He'd probably have some success as he's a top class operator but he'd be caught and put away eventually you'd imagine.

I'd have little interest in it. Ward bores me rigid.

Ward is no light Heavyweight IMO - but beats Bellew IMO handily. Haye will be intriguing, Haye has power to clean KO Ward and that is the last thing to go. Bellew also has the power to hurt Ward no doubt, but it is less of a threat than Haye's. I just wish he would stop messing with his weight and fight the winner of the WSSB SUPER MIDDLE fighter - get back to his proper weight. Froch was so much bigger than Ward seemingly.

I'd be more interested if Ward went to Cruiser! Heavy is a gimmick but he'd have a fair chance of titles at Cruiser. If he was dominant at Cruiser then maybe try Heavy?

I'm not talking about Ward at Heavy per se. Just Ward against one of those two

He'd beat Bellew or Haye. I'd rather see him fight the World Boxing Super Series Cruiserweight Tournament winner.

I figure if he wants to snag an easy title belt he can take on the Fres Oquendo vs Manuel Charr winner

Neither are big heavies so it's an interesting fight no doubt man! Haye probably has one more camp and fight left in him though! This is it for him win or lose! Ward beats both I reckon! If it was Haye of a few years back then he'd be in bother but not now!

Be a good first step into heavyweight.

I think Ward would win.

Ward wouldn't dare that, he probably only challenges them demanding ridiculous offers

:TU: agreed. I think he'd boss him on every level, from the outside potshotting, clinched and headbutts and the occasional legal bodyshot mixed in. Wouldn't be surprised
that he was the stronger man and tossed Boomer around like an empty tracksuit. He certainly knows what to do in the trenches more than Nanlove.

Ward v the winner of the Super series (cruiser) would be pretty good. Him v Usyk would be interesting.

would be interestng how hed handle a jump up. the top 4 super series are closer to hws than lhw and lots lots bgger than guys such as sergey and imo wouldve had less problems with sergey. wards game usually has a lot of physcal bullyng close up and hes not gonna do that and wear down those guys.

bellew imo he could do though. maybe old scared leb too. actually based on lebs last match id go ward. lebs close to done.

but imo ward would struggle vs top large hws. he had enough problems and was hurt wth sergeys boxng from range using one twos. as flawd as guy such as wlder is hes a huge puncher and way way larger. ward imo wont beat any of the major hw titlists once aj-joe happens. charr doesnt count. ward as good as he is isnt roy jones fast or mayweather cute or toney on the lay back and counter. hes rough and tough in there.

All that discussion above about Usyk and heavyweights was pure fantasy

There was zero chance of that ever happening

i do actually think he would be easier then say usyk or any top 5 hw. ppl forget that he was seriously feeling kovs punches and got outboxed from distance many rounds in those fights. couldve easily lost the first and been scored down until winning the 2nd. funny how much lower ppl regard kov now while still ranking ward super high, when they were actually so close for so many rounds. if ones at a certain level the others not all that far behind.

i dont think kov would give usyk or decent hws the problems he gave ward. imo ward has already peaked in his effectiness and will be not as effective moving up. he also a physical crowding boxer rather then an ultra fast slickster. ward and kov are not in the same size category as usyk (far better stamina then kov, not gonna be ground down) or the best hws. just to compare to cruiser usyk, you have 3 inches in height and like 8 in reach, and many pounds in natural weight.

but ya i think ward would beat bellew still, but it think it needs to be remembered that ward is much smaller then top cruisers and hws and that after moving up just one division hes no longer someone whose always been levels above every fight, he very easily couldve lost to kov and the majority of media did have him losing. barrera also did better vs him then vs bivol

..once Ward changes the venue and his team of home referees, he might be in for a couple surprises..
