He seems to be following the path of Audley

Somebody around him should pull him in and explain he is a novice proffesional who has done nothing at all so far in the pro ring.

This is another worry in the Amir Khan story, from before he turned pro there have been signs he really thinks he has made it and deserves more and more...remember the ticket fiasco

Another Audley could kill British boxing :(

There is a big difference between that kind of culter in arab families (such as Naz) and Pakistani families in that respect (there is a whole load of culteral stuff) so I wouldn't see the two as perticularly analagrus just cos they are of the same religion.

In terms of Amir I think he is a bit more mature than he comes accross and has said he doesn't want to be as arrogent as Naz.

wanna hear a story about amir khan? ............
One day before olympic success,fame and fortune was "chillin" with a few of the "boys" round his area. All were young pakistanis. Some of them were smoking weed..but not amir. Amir was stood next to lad known as Sozzi. Sozzi repeatly blew smoke from his joint into Amir' face.
"Couldya stop that please?" -Amir. Sozzi replied by blowing a huge puff into Amir's face. Despite several further requests Sozzi continued. Minutes later he found himself on the floor, courtesy of a swift right cross. Of course, he was stoned shitless, so it wouldnt have taken much to put him on his arse.
The next day Sozzi went looking for Amir with six of his boys. Amir was alone. "I want YOU a one on one right now." - Sozzi. Amir, left with no choice, preceeded to let Sozzi beat the shit out of him.

Dont know how much of this story is true. but a m8 of Sozzi's told me shortly after Amir's success, in an attempt to illustrate how Amir Khan "isnt that 'ard." Thats what I hate about today's youth - you never get a one on one - you might be getting the better of things till one of the other guys m8s bottles you from behind.

But I too do not go for the whole paying for an autograph bit.

I guess the famous person has wisened up to the fact that somebody sells the autograph on e-bay or somewhere, so figures why should they be the one making the money.

But who actually buys these scribbles

and why

If you have a favourite in the limelight what does it mean to have their scribble? what does it mean??

I have been lucky enough to meet a couple of my favourite boxers and on a couple of occasions been lucky enough to have had my photo taken with them...now when I look at the pic it stirs the memory...and my favourite pic hasn`t even got me in it, it has my wife and a famous boxer laughing...I know what they were laughing about, I was the one who risked loosing their front teeth with the gag, and every time I look at it it brings the memory back...but what does a scribble on a piece of paper mean??...and who`s to say the said boxer even scribbled it.

For me its only worth money if its got a good memory to it

What a load of misarable bastards you lot are. If I was getting paid 500k for my life story I'd jump at it too. Yes hes 20 and hasnt had a full life, but I think when I was a kid I remember reading Linfords Autobiography and enjoying it and looked up to him, Im sure kids today will read his life story as something to aspire to.

Obviously hes going after the money but so was DLH/SRL he could be a top boxer too. Lets not pretend the Hattons arent doing the exact same thing, there just no demand for a Ricky Hatton biography.

Ive heard quite a few stories circulating around the pakistani community about Amir been jumped, not sure whats bollox and whats not though, hes not really a brawling sort of fighter in case.

I was wondering what kind of person would buy this book?

No pro boxing fan is going to, as there is nothing to talk about.

Amateur boxing hasnt got a good following, so booksales will be low.

So it will be people like my wife or mum who think buying that book for me would make a good present, as i like boxing!

If its free i guess i will skim through the pages, but have no intention on reading about Amir Khan's school trips!

The only people who will buy it are people who know nothing about boxing.
And what will be in it....I guess his school trips will almost certainly get a mention

I guess it is right up there with Audleys autobiography....ones to avoid

These sort of books make me laugh. Winning one silver medal at the olympics isn't really enough for a 'life story.'

Compared to other sports, olympic boxers have it pretty damned easy, think of the absolute nightmare training people like Paula Radcliffe and Steve Redgrave put themselves through for years.

I certainly won't be buying this sorry excuse for a book.
