Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
Looks like it going to happen. Povetkin will likely win, but anyone who hits as hard as Price always has a punchers' chance.

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
Price fights like a scared little child these days. He has no shot. He gets wrecked inside 2 rounds here.
Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
basically the thing with this fight is for price to be knocked out as brutally as possible to help sell aj-povetkin

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
My sentiments exactly.
Whenever you say a fighter has a "punchers chance" he invariably loses and loses badly.
Price will be too busy trying to protect that very brittle chin of his to throw many punches.
If Price somehow hears the 3rd round bell, then Povetkin really isn't the same fighter he once was.

They can sell Price as a deserving and capable title challenger?
Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
Not Price but Povetkin v Parker is a fight I'd pay to watch.

If AJ got injured, the entire event would be cancelled, because mainstream casuals are only there to see Anthony Joshua and the vast majority of them would almost certainly demand refunds, due to the fact they aren’t going to be willing to pay exorbitant fees to watch a bout between names they’re unfamiliar with.

I would be surprised if they did unfair things to innocent people, they have been very mature in Fury his case as well.
Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
I think it would be lovely for Price to land one of those big right hands, see how Povetkin takes it and consequently responds.. The fluffers will continue to blame everything and everyone else for Povetkin's troubles so I wouldn't mind seeing Pov out cold twitching like Ingo, but Price is the biggest gift wrapped win anyone could hope for. Even a faded version of Povetkin should walk through Price.

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
I suppose Price can go for the hatrick of being knocked out, followed by the change to a 'no contest'. That would be a record in itself. Although I think Thompson got away with it. Teper didn't I thought but Boxrec doesn't have an NC so I may have that wrong.
In any event Povetkin will destroy him. I feel Price is halfway destroyed before he steps in anyway. If he was around in Ali's day, he would have passed out on the ring walk.

If he was around in Ali's day Price would have satisfied himself by fighting a steady diet of Richard Dunn's.
It would have been interesting to see whose chin would crash first.

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
Is it possible that Alexander Povetkin is simply a fighter that cannot compete under PED testing? If he struggles against Price, by submitting a subpar performance when he inevitably defeats the giant Brit, he’ll be looked that way.
And as I’ve stated previously, I reckon the Povetkin-Price bout will surprise us all by being relatively competitive for at least six rounds – it won’t be a complete mismatch.
I expect the Russian to look very ordinary against the Brit!

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
even unimpressive pov still shutout a guy whod just stopped price and had beaten another guy who stopped price. dave also was far worse last fght than pov was last fight. he was super jittery vs a 4-12 (1) opponent. being remotely competitive for a couple rounds will even be a good showng from prce.

What has Price shown in recent times that would leave you to conclude that he'll be relatively competitive?Enlightened-One wrote: ↑01 Feb 2018, 12:28 Is it possible that Alexander Povetkin is simply a fighter that cannot compete under PED testing? I always ignore the PEDS BS.
It doesn't turn an ordinary fighter into Superman.
With or without PEDS, Povetkin could KO Price quickly in his sleep.

I don't expect David Price to beat Povetkin. I thought I made that point clear.SenorPipino wrote: ↑01 Feb 2018, 14:56What has Price shown in recent times that would leave you to conclude that he'll be relatively competitive?Enlightened-One wrote: ↑01 Feb 2018, 12:28 Is it possible that Alexander Povetkin is simply a fighter that cannot compete under PED testing? However, Povetkin took PED's at least twice to help him perform, hence my belief that he won't be as impressive as some of his historical non-PED tested performances.
I also believe that the weight of expectation led to David Price wilting under pressure, but he's got nothing to lose against Povetkin, because everyone is expecting him to get his âss whooped.

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
He doesn't really need to be impressive. He just needs to be slightly accurate with his punches, and throw them, and he'll win with ease.

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
David Price has been damaged goods for years.
Everyone knows that.
He's specifically being brought in to fall down, and the sooner the better in terms of propping up Povetkin for a potential Joshua fight.

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
David Price would beat Stiverne any day, but Povetkin would beat Price any day, since Povetkin refuses to hurt his opponents since he got his new trainer, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't KO Price at all, but we all know he's easely able to do it. On the other side, I wouldn't be surprised if Price takes a dive, I mean, he has been KOed so many times, this opponent is even better as all the other guys, nobody takes you serious, so why even try?

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
This fight has only just been officially confirmed by Matchroom.
Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. David Price
Price was TKO'd by Christian Hammer (Round 7) last February. Since then he's only fought once defeating Kamil Sokolowski (4-12-2, 1 KO) by a 6 round decision. It's ridiculous to take Price as a serious challenger here.SenorPipino wrote: ↑30 Jan 2018, 17:23They can sell Price as a deserving and capable title challenger?
