Instances of great and terrible cornerwork in british fights?
I was thinking about a classic british fight where the cornerman was telling his fighter that the opponent had no left hook and he didnt have to worry about it. Low and behold he goes out in the next round and gets starched by a left hook. Cant recall the fighters
In terms of good cornerwork I think davies slapping eubank switched him on. I also liked packie collins saying to spike in the saunders fight "Are you a punchbag spike? No? Then throw some fookin punches" spike did come on a bit after that talk lol

The guy who was in BJS’s corner against Akavov was terrible, although I believe he was just doing it as a favour.
Whilst I wouldn’t necessarily say it was terrible, I was extremely disappointed with Shane McGuigan’s corner work in the Frampton- Santa Cruz rematch, just seemed to have absolutely no ideas at all.

Tesco Joe telling Quigg not to throw punches. Eubank Sr strolling around the ring whilst his son was getting his head boxed off by BJS.

Didn’t Tesco Joe tell Burton he needed to knock Bullongi out when he was well ahead on the cards?

Loved Dean Powell kicking Enzo C or Clevs dad out of the way every time they were out of their league. Or switching to a West Midlands accent fluently whenever a fighter was from round there.
And I know this shouldn't count, but Big Terry O'Connor giving Clev a firemans lift to his corner against Kovalev was beyond the call of duty.

Angelo Dundee enlarging the tear in Ali's glove may have changed the course of boxing history.

A lot of Joe Gallaghers cornerwork when his fighter is down on rounds early is pretty poor.

Just listen to Joe G at the first sign of trouble...

A great example for me was when Brian Hughes stopped Reid going out for another round against Lacy. Most trainers would've given in to Reid's pleas and seen him badly hurt.

I imagine their relations were frosty for a while, but no. A similar end against Froch here at 7:40
