WHO WINS? Anthony Yarde vs. Serhyi Demchenko

Post by wesshaw1985 »

Light heavyweight Karo Murat has relinquished the EBU title and will not go through with the defence against Serhyi Demchenko that was tentatively set for March 24 in Hamburg.

Murat will now go for the IBO title left vacant (or will be vacated) by stablemate Igor Mikhalkin, who fights WBO champion Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev on March 3.  Who Murat will fight will be announced soon.

As for as Demchenko goes he remains official challenger for the now vacant EBU title and will take on the highest ranked available challenger.

Could Yarde pick up the EBU Title next?

I think the EBU won't let those who've fought for the "WBO European" bullshit fight for the Euro title proper (for a time, at least).
