Cashfighter
Anyone in East Midlands know much about this. It's unlicensed, but 10,000 to the winner and at The Leicester arena. A friend of mine is in, who's boxed 18 months (but is decent), plus Martin Conception and another guy I know. Seems a big show for unlicensed. Lee Froch on the undercard....

Re: Cashfighter
I'll have a look. My guy is raw but tough. The weight is 75-85kg! He'll drain for 85. Conception is a lot smaller. Only other one I know is Mark Holmes from Leeds, but my mate beat him in his last fight. I'll look into the matter...

Re: Cashfighter
He is, gets a decent turn out for his fights. Think its s bit of a life turning around thing, good luck to him.
Re: Cashfighter
whats his life turning around from?
is he any good?
ive wondered if maybe for good but not great ams if unlicensed is the better route than pro. or would they still have to pay their way onto shows/sell a bunch of tickets to make even a bit of money/etc
can you do pro and unliscened? am i right that tom doran did?

Re: Cashfighter
Sounds a decent event an format
Re: Cashfighter
Lee has had problems with addiction and mental health, Good on him for applying himself to this I say.
Re: Cashfighter
I know/sparred alas entering. Great chance for them all to make a bit of dough, pros don't make this much.
Lee froch was in a pit via alcohol from what I know, and now he is completely sober. He wasn't a bad amateur many years ago word has it.

Re: Cashfighter
Know a lad who's entered and also know Lee froch..
Considering where Lee has come from he's doing good.
He knows he's not doing anything major, he's got a former top pro in the family obviously so is under no illusion. But for what he is doing he is doing it well. Not many unlicensed fighters are topping the bill at arenas like he is, in fact most pros don't achieve that.

Re: Cashfighter
My mate won it. Easily. Beat Conception inside a minute in the first round. He's had harder fights up here to be honest. 10k was an absolute gift!
Re: Cashfighter
whos your mate
is most unliscened poor enough that a decent and experienced amateur (like aba quarterfinals levels) could go really far, assuming they fight at there own weight
do most unliscensed guys still have to deal with selling tickets to earn like the pros do

Re: Cashfighter
They were mostly decent Ams in this. My guy has sparred 100+ rounds for this with pros all over Yorkshire.
Re: Cashfighter
and hes only started boxing 18 months ago? pretty good then
Re: Cashfighter
Its good to hear he's trying to turn his life around, but let's be honest he wouldn't be topping bills at arenas if he wasn't Carl's brother.Looking On wrote: ↑03 Feb 2018, 18:43 Know a lad who's entered and also know Lee froch..

He would just be another unlicensed boxer
Re: Cashfighter
Sounds like a chancer far too much experience to. Be entering these things.. This is what’s wrong with unlicensed boxing people don’t fully disclose their experience probably the reason why you won’t name him...mickey1975 wrote: ↑23 Mar 2018, 19:45 My mate won it. Easily.
