Is Gassiev-Dorticos on USA TV

Post by jewboypgh »

I seen Gassiev and was real impressed. The Cuban I don’t know, but since he’s from Cuba, then I know that he can fight, I love watching cruisers and this looks like a good one. Can any of Yinz tell me where I can watch this and what time will it be on east coast time?

It will be on Match TV in Russia, and there will be a HD legal stream for it on the station's website.

Really looking forward to this fight. This year is starting really nicely for boxing :box:

I am having hard time to call the winner here. I think both will respect the power of the opponent. It might be quite tentative in the beginning. I think Gassiev is the tougher of the two and has more overall power. Dorticos might be more skilled and has nice snap to the punches.

I am thinking that Dorticos might outbox Gassiev. I am not expecting him to knock him out thou. More of work rate and outpointing affair. Maybe Gassiev lands one of those hooks to the body and it will be short night. Who knows?

Can Dorticos win on points in Russia? At least its not Vegas... Tomorrow will tell :box:

I'd probably pick Dorticos if he were better on his feet as he is more loose with his power from a distance, whereas Gassiev is more compact with his power and needs to be in tighter range. Since the fight seems headed for that tighter range, have to pick Gassiev with his shorter, more compact punch. Going to be fun while it lasts.

Usyk vs Breidis wasn't so I'd expect this one is a no as well. Damn shame too. Both were great matchups. Last week's fight was a very competitive and entertaining scrap, and this one has the potential to be even more exciting. Why the networks didn't deem this worthy of picking up I don't know. It's presented with all the pomp and pageantry you could possibly want out of a sporting event, and the matchups are rock solid.

There just isn't much money in it. Possibly a small return on investment but clearly wasn't worth the risk. Not great timing either, with these matchups close to the Super Bowl. Nobody watches boxing at the start of the year in the USA.

It's a tough fight to predict.
Dorticos looks the better boxer Gassiev the better puncher.
Gassiev can hit and may wait out a number of rounds to get the telling punches off.
One of the big questions is can Dorticos take a punch and I don't mean actually getting dropped, but getting dropped and losing total momentum and standing in the fight.
Possible Dorticos can rack up the points he has the style to do so but does he have the temperament to keep it going the distance or will he fall apart.
Gassiev is a plodder and get's check mated in boxing which kick starts one or two of his dimensional styles and he becomes easy to predict.
It's a close call.

One more thing and I'm closing the book until after the fight.

Did anyone see Gassiev's forehead at the beginning of round 2 against Isiah Thomas, reminded me of Andrew Golota when he fought Lennox Lewis.

If you see it you'll know you've seen it before and what it indicates.
How does a healthy young man in the prime of his life have that on his head ... especially a boxer.
He's not a teenager with acne on the cheeks.

Gassiev was 22 when he fought Thomas. Young men often still have acne at that age.

moderate acnes still very common on younger adults even around late 20s. whats more telllng s when someone has acne all over there body especally when they ddnt have that before. carlos cuadras for example has body acne well beyond whats common

of course ped use s very common too

Unless someone here is a dermatologist who has personally examined Gassiev's red blotches, it's irresponsible to firmly imply that he's juiced.

Diagnoses as to the cause of the discoloration should be left to professionals. Or the labs.

No it's not. I know Mayweather was juiced to the gills in the Pacquiao fight. He also pays off the professional and the labs, though.

Mexi-Box, if you truly have this unimpeachable inside information, I wish you would share the evidence with us.

Hell, share it with the world.

I can't fathom why you prefer to sit on any blockbuster evidence concerning Mayweather, when you could instead, singlehandedly, open the door to one of the biggest sports revelations and scandals in decades.

We will wait anxiously to see what you produce.

You do know he was caught using an IV, right? IV can be used to mask doping. How stupid can you be if you still have skepticism after that revelation. You also have Hauser's damming article discussing the ins-and-outs of the testing.
