Usyk for me, but it's gonna be a hell of a struggle for them both.

Murat Gassiev outlanded the game Yunier Dorticos 78-33 in power shots over the last four rounds and very accurate with hos power shots throughout.

Someone made an interesting post a while ago onthe styles of the different ex-soviet regions.

Gassiev definitely fits the Caucasian style: high hands, tight guard, lots of hooks and fighting in bursts (like Chaguev or Abraham)

Usyk also fits the Ukrainian style I think.

Just caught up with this as I (foolishly) watched the Sky card last night. Great main event, shame Dorticos couldn’t see the final bell as he deserved, but Gassiev was excellent. Usyk has to be marginal favourite in the final though?

Oyf what a fight, typically Cruiser-esque, plenty fun, bombs, back and forth action and a last round KO, that's what its all about, loved that :salut:

Gassiev is a serious fighter, Usyk will have to be on point to beat him, after the first 6/8 rounds I had it close, Dorticos was the more busier and was jabbing well but he wasn't getting through with his big punches, Gassiev doing a great job of covering up and he was the one landing the effective power punches, he hurt Dorticos in the middle rounds with a right hand but it was mainly the left that brought Gassiev most success , hooks and uppercuts doing real damage, Dorticos has a serious chin though and stood up to some wicked shots, he tried to fight fire with fire but he couldn't seem to put a dent in Gassiev

Great last round, Dorticos down 3 times, the first KD to get the ball rolling was a sweet left hook which Dorticos done well to get up from, the second KD Dorticos was still reeling but they were solid combinations to put him down and the right hand to send Dorticos through the ropes was a great finisher

Epic fight, far better than Usyk/Briedis IMO

I never listened to the post fight interviews but I thought Ron was in good form last night, he does read a fight well and I like his Ron-isms

Brilliant fight how brave is the Cuban?! russian is an absolute tank - iron sums him up. The head shot combos he was putting together near the end reminded me of Tyson taking out Berbick.
Stupid grandstanding ref should have stopped it earlier in the 12th, his legs were gone and the dwarf referee obviously wasn’t going to be happy until the Cuban was out cold. Hugely impressed by the Russian and hugely impressed by the Cuban, he took a steady beating throughout but kept on trying.

In fairness to the ref, I thought he was just trying to give Dorticos every chance to hear the final bell.

Agree with those who said Ron was good last night. I think he’s very professional.

That MC is exceptionally good, best in the business perhaps. Barely needed his cue cards, plenty of charisma and clear as glass pronunciation.

How do you think Dorticos v Breidis would go? That would be good for the undercard of the final.

I think Breidis wins as well but it would be tight. Hopefully they make it for the undercard of the final. Why the fukk is it in Jeddah! Wee Kalle must've done a dodgy deal with the Saudi's :o He'll not be able to get full of nose candy over there :OhYes:

I'd probably go with Briedis to outbox Dorticos over 12 mate, good match up

He's got a good voice. Usually based on USA.

His catchline too long though.
