Jacobs vs Sulecki

Post by boxing_rocks »

Just 4 days ago, it was still Sulecki vs Vanes.

Now it looks that Hearn stole Vanes's opponent.

Will Jacobs get criticism for facing blown up JMWs ?

jacobs beat ggg on my card and many others, so to have someone of that ability drop down to arias and suleckis as his only fights since is a bit disappointing. i wonder if jacobs will get a shot at canelo after canelo beats ggg.

suleckis okay but had really tough time with jack culcay and was hurt multiple times . it did seem he was looking for a title shot at 154 and he weighed 153 for two of his last three, although most of his weights are at mw or higher

I had Golovkin beating Jacobs, but it was a close enough fight that Jacobs deserves another shot (closer than the Canelo/GGG fight).

Or he did deserve another shot... I'll change that opinion if he keeps coasting along fighting mismatches.

I don't really view this as someone being dragged up in weight, as Sulecki has only really cut below 160 for his last couple of fights. My issue with him, is he's never really done anything at 160. He's magically found some power recently (7 of his 10 KO wins came in his last 8 fights...), and he is a step up from Arias, but he also looks fragile, and it's not a matchup that excites me.

I think Hearn's trying to be clever - fairly well ranked opponent, undefeated, but likely to break easily and make Jacobs look like a beast.

I'm not going to shit on Jacobs for taking the fight. Much better than doing nothing, plus I don't know who else was available. GGG, Canelo, Saunders, Murata, Charlo etc are tied up. Derevyanchenko doesn't have a fight. He seems slightly avoided at the moment.

Keep yourself relevant, Danny! Billy Joe already skipped ahead of you...

Sulecki is the kind of fighter that motivates better and fights better when has to face bettter opponents, i really believe he will give a hard time to Jacobs, but i dont really expect him to make an upset

Sulecki posted some poo on his promotors on twitter like he is angry that his promoters do not care about him and couldnt even overbid a lame Don King, maybe it is a kind of ''revenge''

well Sulecki is a big LMW and at MW he beaten Proksa and Centeno, i think he should continue in MW instead of moving to LMW, he is 185cm/6'1' , on boxrec his reach is ridiculously short but i dont think it's true, so he is taller than Jacobs and got comparable reach, but Jacobs is naturally stronger i think . Sulecki once fought at SMW if i remember well against some French journeyman
