Barrett v Clark is decent. Good to see Barrett being stepped up a bit here. Clark should ask a few questions of him.

Is DL Jones any good?
What I mean is, will he be in it with Dobois?
I've never seen Jones before.

well if jones drew with darch i doubt hed give much trouble to big dan, especially considering he has 0 stoppages in 9 fights.
also jones was floored by darch.

looks like another chinny walkthrough job for dan.

yep, perfectly hand picked again to keep building up the monster image. no power and seemingly chinny. they like those types (see howe and carter and the cruiserweight and the light heavyweight). to be fair though at 6 fights and 20 years old its nothing poor yet.

dubois probably beaten as good as opposition as cary cornish, or at least close to it. sokolowski though would be a better test than howe, carter, jones, etc though i think. probably not a big threat to win but certainly not the cherry picked knockover job.

if dubois could 'monster' him in a few rounds it would say a lot more than any of his wins. kevin johnson has been mentioned and that would be even better.

OK, thanks for that Jammy :TU:
Bummer. Dubois is on the hype train, I'd like to see him prove he is the real deal.

Generally happy with this card. Clark is a good step up for Barrett, he gave Ward all he could handle and with Ward likely to vacate his British and Commonwealth titles a win would put Barrett firmly in the mix to face the likes of Cacace, Hughes, Tennyson and Woodstock this year, all good fights. Their styles should also blend well, if Barrett is as good as many think Clark won’t go into his shell and go quietly, he’ll put it all on the line and it should lead to a good spectacle.

Jones is perfectly acceptable for Doubios at this stage as well, he was always likely to have a Jones, Hodgson, Machaj type. I’m not suggesting Jones is any threat at all, but DDD is so young it’s going to be very difficult to move him along at the right pace without him running out of options and getting in too deep too quickly. He’ll be 23/24 before he should be mixing with top 10-15 guys so there’s plenty time yet. He should be targetting a British or Commonwealth title this year and the likes of Lewison, Little, Cornish, Allen, Sexton, Webb, Price, and Chisora over the next 18 months would likely leave him in a position sitting just behind Joshua and potentially Whyte and around the same place as Gorman and Joyce by that time. I’d love to see him fight the winner of Thomas vs Allen in the early summer, or Sexton as we do need to see him in with someone who could get some rounds out of him and won’t just fall over.

I’m not blown away by Averlant for Yarde but it’s ok. I’ve seen Averlant a number of times on Eurosport and he’s better than his record suggests, awkward and as tough as old boots. He can’t crack an egg though but he does have the potential to take Yarde some badly needed rounds. If he wins and looks good Yarde can hopefully face the likes of Ajasafe, Broadhurst, Haertel, Ngumbu, Koelling, Caparello, Boesel and Buglioni over the next 12 months as the step up to top ten at 175lbs is seriously tough just now. If he blows Averlant away it’ll be only the second time since Braehmer that anyone will have done that.

Gospic is absolutely abysmal, I'd back Mendouo, Carter and Darch to beat him.

Dubois will splatter Jones in one round. I'd like to see him back out on the 02 bill and face Gary Cornish. If he's boxing 4/5 times a year, I don't mind opponents of Jones' calibre, after all, it is a Southern Area title defence.

I remember Averlant getting creased by a bodyshot in 2 rounds by Braehmer a few years back, he's been in with the likes of Gutknecht and Sjekloca but has always been found wanting when stepping up, at least he's an actual LHW, cant see him hanging long with Yarde though, can seen it being another early night, i'd be disappointed if it wasn't TBH

If I lived anywhere close to Doncaster, I would be going to see the card at The Dome rather than watching BN.

Dec Spelman-Scott Westgarth
Andy Townend-William Warburton
Curtis Woodhouse-John Wayne Hibbert

No foregone conclusion mismatches there.

Dec Spelman-Scott Westgarth (11(7)-0 vs 6-2-1) pretty obvious whose gonna win)
Andy Townend-William Warburton (20-4 vs 24-127-10) doesn't come much more of a mismatch than this?)
Curtis Woodhouse-John Wayne Hibbert

No foregone conclusion mismatches there.
And i'd rather watch Yarde & Dubois win an obvious mismatch tbf

Gorman is a likeable character. Him and DD seem to be on a bit of a collision course. This card isn't great. Looking forward to Barrett v Clark to see how that goes down but the rest of the card is wank!

I'm out for dinner with Mrs n kids on Sat evening so I'll prob just record this and watch on the Sunday when I get home.

Dec Spellman has a good record but I've yet to see him fight. Anyone on here know much about him?

Why is Andy Townend, a lightweight (who recently moved up from super-feather), fighting a light-middleweight jorneyman?

Woodhouse and Hibbert both seem on the slide, so that should be competitive.
