Actually that was probably a bit harsh. Nebo is a long way from being a terrible opponent. I just think Schwarz needs to do a lot more to justify his being considered top ten. He has a rating by at least one of the alphabet mafia, I forget which. (WBO?)

Tom Schwarz is now in boxrec's top 30 at age 23. He is no longer just a prospect, he is one of THE prospects to be reckoned with. The current top 10 is mostly filled with fighters who never came close to the top 10 when they were Schwarz's age. Parker and Kabayel are pretty much the only top 20'ers who cracked the top 20 by the time they were age 25.

tom schwarz is okay but when you actually watch him fight, as some of us do, he doesnt really stand out as being particularly good. lets see if that ranking/age business is more than simply him turning pro at a very young age for hws these days. lets see what he can actually do vs meaningful opposition. it seems he barely beat ivica bacurin last year

imo someone shouldnt be considered a SERIOUS prospect unless theyve beaten respectable opponents in style or were an excellent amateur, neither of which schwarz has done. giving someone serious props just for being ahead of others there age imo means only so much when so few hws that age have been pro as long.

if we can say in a few years that tom schwarz is the top guy in his late 20s then it will be way way way more meaningful

Either Dimitrenko of Rovcanin would be a decent test at this stage. Nothing he's done so far is deserving of a top ten ranking and beating either of these won't be either, but matches like this will be good experience. At his age there's no rush.

hes way off being a legit top 10 hw, even if he has an abc rank. at this point i think theres a lot of work to do before fighting anyone that would move him even close to a credible top 10 if he beat them

hes beaten 10-1, 11-0, 10-0, 18-1, 9-0 etc but the reality is all these guys had very padded records and he struggled a lot with much smaller journeyman ivica bacurnin. bacurnin being a far tougher test than those fancy record guys says a lot about how padded there records are.

Fighting Dimitrenko (boxrec rating 86) after Nebo (boxrec rating 33 at the time) is not how 23-year-old prospects get matched. Observe a history of prospect matchmaking.

After Wilder beat Kelvin Price (boxrec rating 36), he fought Matthew Greer (boxrec rating 12).
After Anthony Joshua beat Matt Skelton (boxrec rating 31), he fought Konstantin Airich (boxrec rating 25).
After Povetkin beat Friday Ahunanya (boxrec rating 39), he fought Livin Castillo (boxrec rating 41).
After Wlad beat Cody Koch (boxrec rating 30), he fought Najee Shaheed (boxrec rating 23).
After Vitali beat Levi Billups (boxrec rating 30), he fought Julius Francis (boxrec rating 54).
Tyson Fury skipped up to John McDermott (boxrec rating 49), after which he fought Tomas Mzarek (boxrec rating 4).
After Luis Ortiz beat Zack Page (boxrec rating 35), he fought Francisco Alvarez (boxrec rating 11).
Pulev skipped all the way up to Gbenga Oloukun (boxrec rating 65), after which he fought Zach Page (boxrec rating 34).
Parker skipped all the way up to Brian Minto (boxrec rating 61), after which he fought Keith Thompson (boxrec rating 7).
After Breazeale beat Nagy Aguilera (boxrec rating 36), he fought Devin Vargas (boxrec rating 12).
Jarrell Miller skipped up to Akhror Muralimov (boxrec rating 47), after which he fought Donovan Dennis (boxrec rating 29).
After Charles Martin beat Alexander Flores (boxrec rating 39), he fought Rafael Pedro (boxrec rating 13).
Lucas Browne skipped up to James Toney (boxrec rating 51), after which he fought Travis Walker (boxrec rating 37).
After Alexander Dimitrenko beat Andreas Sidon (boxrec rating 46), he fought Vaughn Bean (boxrec rating 27).
After Hughie Fury beat Andriy Rudenko (boxrec rating 34), he fought George Arias (boxrec rating 27).
Erkan Teper skipped all the way up to Michael Sprott (boxrec rating 65), after which he fought Martin Rogan (boxrec rating 57).
After Manuel Charr beat Gbenga Oluokun (boxrec rating 45), he fought Ramon Hayes (boxrec rating 4).
After Artur Szpilka beat Taras Bidenko (boxrec rating 37), he fought Brian Minto (boxrec rating 35).
Mariusz Wach skipped up to Jason Gavern (boxrec rating 52), after which he fought Tye Fields (boxrec rating 39).
Amir Mansour skipped up to Dominick Guinn (boxrec rating 64), after which he fought Epifanio Mendoza (boxrec rating 20).
Eddie Chambers skipped up to Robert Hawkins (boxrec rating 69), after which he fought Andrew Greeley (boxrec rating 10).
After amateur god Odlanier Solis beat Oleksiy Mazikin (boxrec rating 38), he fought Aldo Colliander (boxrec rating 32).
After Ruslan Chagaev beat Sherman Williams (boxrec rating 32), he fought Jucimar Jipolito (boxrec rating 9).
After Nicolay Valuev beat Toakipa Tasefa (boxrec rating 36), he fought Yaroslav Zavorotnyi (boxrrec rating 1).

Exceptions where prospects actually made a large step-up after a Nebo-caliber opponent: Adam Kownacki, Agit Kabayel

You are basically demanding that Schwarz fight Dimitrenko immediately after Gebo in order to defend his prospect status in your view. It should be clear now, if you aren't impervious to facts, that you are holding Tom Schwarz to a higher standard of matchmaking than most other heavyweight prospects have lived up to.

Bacurin always been a handful even for up and comers. He was the first to defeat briedis in the pros... Although i thought briedis had won. He is awkward and experienced... And pretty durable.

Schwarz reminds me of a young Dimitrenko but with lighter feet

what a fanny

goes on about how serious of a prospect tom schwarz is and how hes rated in the top 30, yet posts a f@cking novel when its suggested that he fights a guy a bit higher whose seen better days. jesus mate, i mean if 12 points miljan rovcanin originally got a draw with dimmy, why such a big f@cking deal at THE prospect tom schwarz fighting dimmy too?

by the way dimmy wouldve had lower points if the draw with a 12 point opponent stood. anyone care to help with how many that wouldve been?
