Jarrell Miller vs. Johann Duhaupas - April 28, 2018

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

According to an ESPN.com report Tuesday night, Miller will face France’s Johann Duhaupas in a heavyweight fight HBO will televise April 28 from Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The main event of HBO’s doubleheader that night will pit middleweight contender Daniel Jacobs against Maciej Sulecki.

The 29-year-old Miller (20-0-1, 18 KOs) expressed interest in boxing Trevor Bryan (19-0, 13 KOs), an unbeaten but untested former sparring partner from Schenectady, New York. When a deal couldn’t be completed for Miller to battle Bryan, his handlers turned their attention to Duhaupas.

Should be a good scrap. Miller is starting to fight some decent opposition that makes his resume look good.

duhaupas is a gatekeeper and i think miller beats him easy. tbh i dont really think washington, wach, duhaupas is all that impressive at all, though i suppose the division blows so much outside the top few that it puts miller high up

hope johan actually brings his boxing shoes this time and doesnt fight in his trainers again

Duhaupas is decent opponent indeed, but he is probably fading, he is not young, he was battered by Wilder and knocked out cold by Povetkin. I guess, Miller will maul him down to the stoppage somewhere in the 2nd half of the fight.

I think Miller wins via referee stoppage. At some point Duhaupas will show signs of wanting to get out and the ref will step in. I doubt Miller gets a KTFO win though,

As unimpressive as it might be, it's probably no worse than Wilder or Povetkin's recent opposition, and better than Ortiz and Pulev's last few.

Sad state of affairs...

Solid matchup. Both of these guys are on the back end of the Heavyweight Top 10 to me though Duhaupas would normally be a fringe contender if not for the fact that the division is just absolute dogsh*t at the moment.

I figure Miller will win a decision over Duhaupas. Duhaupas isn't a world beater, but he's durable and I don't think Miller will stop him but he might.

Should be a nice fight, Duhaupas improved a hell of a lot after he received a world titlefight while having a terrible record. He even managed to get to round 6 against Povetkin. Meanwhile Miller isn't any special, he's just an average K1 fighter that turned himself into a boxer, just like Povetkin, both Klitschko's, Spong, Whyte, name them.

I think this could be a very very close fight, I think Miller is too slow to actually win most rounds, but at the same time, Duhaupas isn't able to KO him.

A lot of people treat Duhaupas as though he's borderline top 15ish, and I would consider that a pretty splendid win for anyone outside of the top 5. It's not as though there are a lot of top 10 heavyweights who are routinely defeating top 15/20 opponents. A decisive win over Duhaupas would pretty much put Miller's accomplishments near that ofOrtiz's, Pulev's, and Parker's.

Btw, Duhaupas is a clearly better opponent than Trevor Bryan, so hopefully this comes off.

Everyone wants to see Whyte vs. Miller. But Miller vs. Duhaupas is good.

I think the biggest question over the result is can Miller stop him or will it be a decision win.? I can't see Duhaupas winning but he'll come to fight, so while I can't get excited by the prospect, it's a decent enough match. They can't all be pick 'em fights sadly.

I'd like to see any pairing between Miller, Whyte, Breazeale, Jennings, Takam, Pulev, Povetkin. maybe a few others besides.
