Indeed, one hell of a match..

I think;

Both fighters would be knocked down but

Foreman wins by KO round 6.

OR

The referee could stop the fight, under the pretesnce of "health and safety" and he'll be kocked out by both of them, then they both go get showered and head out to the boozer, and get a couple of pints in them. Then start a bar brwal, and i'll be on their side, then some bar locals wake up in hospital the next morning, some with lost teeth, some with broken jaws and others simply still in a coma.

Well this is an even match.

Foreman likes fighters who come to him and Tyson's style would suit Foreman as George has trouble with fighters that run i.e Jimmy Young, but Tyson will be there infront of him so Foreman wouldnt have to go looking for his opponent.

But then if Foreman fights like he did against Lyle, than Tyson could win this in a slug fest as Mike is faster, stronger, takes a better punch and has better endurance than Lyle. Lyle might hit harder in terms of one shot power, but Tyson is by far the greater puncher.

But Foreman wins this 3/5 times by TKO 6.

A peak Foreman would win this by a KO in the middle rounds.

tyson KO foreman- i think tyson's combination of speed and power will be too much for foreman

one thing foreman has going for him though.............no fighter who went went in on foreman came out the winner. even michael moorer started to come into foreman and looked what happened.

Foreman would have had a LOT more going for him than that in this matchup. Foreman by brutal KO inside of 5 rds, in an exciting slugfest.

Foreman too easy to hit for Tyson who was a faster starter and had a very good chin.

Tysons quick combo's stop Foreman in 2.

I gotta go with Foreman, I even think he would have given Mike a good fight in his comeback not to mention his prime.

Foreman would destroy him. Tyson was made to order for a guy like Foreman. Just like frazier was made to order for Foreman. Mike comes in, Foreman drops a few bombs. Down goes Tyson, down goes Tyson, down goes Tyson. Foreman is just to tall, and strong. :TU: :box:

I'm thinking of "Prime" Mikey against/vs. Frank Bruno.

Foreman KO's Mikey.

A toss up. A few good reasons for Tyson winning as for George. Tyson's speed and chin stand him in good stead and George's brute power give himn an excellent chance. George big edge in mental toughness also stands out. Foreman KO6

Oddly enough I think Foreman Mark II has a better chance than Mark I

Just replace "Frazier" with "Tyson" and replay Howard Cossell's famous "Down Goes Frazier" soundbit and there you have it.

Tyson was a much faster starter than frazier, had a better chin and a better defence.

Tyson also hit harder with both hands.

Their styles are quite different.

Frazier compares to Marciano, Tyson to Dempsey.

Foreman had more heart than Iron Mike. He was far too strong for Mike.

He would have stopped Tyson, probably after being wobbled early himself.

i reckon tyson by KO my personal opinion is that foreman was to basic and 1 dimensional wereas tyson had power, speed agression etc.. although i still think foreman was a terrific awesome fighter like liston

What about a peak Sonny Liston Dec?

Say then if Tyson alters his style for this one fight and chooses to box rather than engage in a slugfest. Even people who would favor Foreman would have to admit that Tyson had excellent hand speed. What if he figured out a way to utilize that speed and stick and move?

thats not really something you can say because tyson didnt do that. You could say that about anyone it doesnt prove anything. How about this, well what if james toney starts dancing round the ring and uses footwork and lateral movement. U cant say what would happen because tyson never did that and wev never seen him do that, so u cant comment on how it would affect big george.

Decagon wrote:Liston wasn't as good coming forward. Look at the Machen and Ali fights. He was at his best when he was sitting back on the jab from halfway across the ring.
Not so. He was getting outjabbed and banged hard by the speedier Cleveland Williams in their first fight. So he started coming forward(in both fights) through Cleve's bombs and knocked him out.

He came forward vs. Patterson in both fights and scored 1 round kos. The result was partially fear on Floyd's part and partially aggressiveness on Sonny's part.

It wasn't a case of Sonny "coming forward" in those 2 bouts you mentioned that made him look bad. It was a case of Machen and Ali running a track meet.

I know that is not the style he fought, and I wasn't so much talking about dancing around the ring, just a bit of movement while choosing to box. Maybe use his supperior handspeed. I was more or less coming from a hypothetical standpoint. Just mulling over the possibilities. Most people think if he comes straight ahead that he loses. So I just wondered does any other stratagy work.

Foreman KO2 once he catches Tyson its all over, Its Frazier-Foreman all over again. Tyson's chin is overrated, once he got caught w/a punch he wasn't really effective.
