Shannon Briggs offered Deontay Wilder $2 million
Re: Shannon Briggs offered Deontay Wilder $2 million
I'm certainly not impressed by Wilder's resume. He's only fought ONE Top 10 opponent in his entire reign as "Champion"...that was Stiverne (the first time).
But it doesn't change the fact that Wilder is 32 and Briggs is 46....A HUGE difference in Boxing.
At the moment Briggs is not ranked at all. He hasn't fought in over a year, and he's considered inactive.
There are a lot of guys that could potentially beat Wilder. I'm not saying he's some world beater, I'm just saying Old man Briggs ain't gonna be the guy to beat him. Hell Briggs couldn't even win a round against him. I honestly don't even truly believe he'd try. Briggs just wants a payday. That's why he's constantly trying to talk his way into a big fight with Fury, Wilder, Wlad...etc.
He needs the money.
If he were to actually try to EARN a title shot by beating some contenders, he'd fail in his attempt. Anybody in the Top 40 could beat Briggs. Possibly Top 60.

Because Briggs isn't a ranked fighter. What part of that do you not understand? Briggs isn't ranked...he's not worthy of a title shot. Capiche?
To get ranked you have to beat ranked fighters. He hasn't done that because HE CAN'T

Re: Shannon Briggs offered Deontay Wilder $2 million
Neither was Arreola, it's Wilder who has the power to decide who get's in
Re: Shannon Briggs offered Deontay Wilder $2 million
I believe they have to be in the WBC's Top 15 or if can't be sanctioned as a title bout. The Title orgs rankings are usually very questionable, but that's the way it is. So it's not entirely up to Wilder.

Asdfjkl believes a lot of things that normal human beings don't.
Most of these things, for some odd reason, center around the grandeur of Shannon Briggs or the treachery and deceit of Deontay Wilder.

Even Shannon Briggs himself doesn't think as highly of Shannon BriggsSenorPipino wrote: ↑10 Feb 2018, 17:40Asdfjkl believes a lot of things that normal human beings don't.

Briggs wasn't 76 when he fought Vitali, plus Wilder is faster & looks to be a harder hitter to me.asdfjkl wrote: ↑10 Feb 2018, 13:49If Klitschko couldn't do it, Wilder sure can't do it lolgilgamesh wrote: ↑10 Feb 2018, 13:37The build up would be better than the actual fight. The actual fight would be a 1st round KO for Wilder. Possibly in the first exchange of the bout.Syntax Error wrote: ↑10 Feb 2018, 13:35 If this is true, thank you Wilder!
Imagine the build-up if these two were to actually fight?
It would be unbearable.

..2 million bucks or not, his inactivity, poor ranking don't qualify him as a title contender, period...

Well, let's agree to disagree at that latest point, lol, a 225 pounder hitting harder as a 250 pounder XD.Syntax Error wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 06:32Briggs wasn't 76 when he fought Vitali, plus Wilder is faster & looks to be a harder hitter to me.

George Foreman & Earnie Shavers weighed less than 225 lbs in their heydays; do you think they hit harder than any 250 lbers before or since?asdfjkl wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 07:44Well, let's agree to disagree at that latest point, lol, a 225 pounder hitting harder as a 250 pounder XD.Syntax Error wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 06:32Briggs wasn't 76 when he fought Vitali, plus Wilder is faster & looks to be a harder hitter to me.
Once you get to HW, it isn't the weight of the fighter that's key to their power, it's technique, timing, speed & natural physical strength that is the key; so yes, I believe that Wilder is a harder hitter than Vitali was.

Yea, because Vitali had no good technique, timing, speed & natural physical strength ofcourse XDSyntax Error wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 07:49George Foreman & Earnie Shavers weighed less than 225 lbs in their heydays; do you think they hit harder than any 250 lbers before or since?asdfjkl wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 07:44Well, let's agree to disagree at that latest point, lol, a 225 pounder hitting harder as a 250 pounder XD.Syntax Error wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 06:32

I never said Vitali didn't possess those attributes, I merely intimated (as if it needs to be said) that someone weighing 225 lbs can in theory be a harder puncher than someone weighing 250 lbs.

No one, and I mean no one, has ever hit harder than Shannon Briggs.
And no one ever will.
Why do you think he's the most feared and avoided heavyweight on the planet?
There you go, asdjfkl, I did your insane arguing for you. Go take a nap.

It sure is, yes, in theory it's possible indeed, in theory Arreola and Stiverne could fight for a world heavyweight title. Oh wait.Syntax Error wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 10:23It's like arguing with a toddler!asdfjkl wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 08:39Yea, because Vitali had no good technique, timing, speed & natural physical strength ofcourse XDSyntax Error wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 07:49

Re: Shannon Briggs offered Deontay Wilder $2 million
wilder would beat the vitali who briggs fought
Re: Shannon Briggs offered Deontay Wilder $2 million
Briggs needs to defeat (in convincing fashion) a top 10 contender to even be considered for any title shots. Briggs' 20 + months of inactivity, his old age and a recent failed steroid test demands this.

A wheezy old gasbag & steroid freak like Briggs isn't defeating a top 10 contender convincingly these days.
This is the reason why he just shouts loudly, but rarely ever actually fights.
He just wants to talk himself into a payday.

It wasn't a theory. They DID fight for a title. A paper one. One that Shannon Briggs isn't even worthy for a shot against...even in a watered down paper title world. What's that tell you?asdfjkl wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 21:41It sure is, yes, in theory it's possible indeed, in theory Arreola and Stiverne could fight for a world heavyweight title.
