Re: Whyte v Browne
Whyte for me,younger, fresher and far more active.Neither of them set the pulse racing to be honest but it should be a good fight as there is a lot at stake with all the different ' titles' fights available for the winner.
Re: Whyte v Browne
If there was an option of draw, or 'I don't know', I'd have selected that one.
If I had to choose one, I will opt for Whyte. Don't back him to get the KO at all, don't think he loads up enough, and hasn't got a stoppage against anyone in the world top 100 yet. So expect it to be a MD or a SD.
But I give this a genuine 50:50 tag, cause Browne can bang.

I have never backed a draw in boxing but will in this fight. Eddie loves a draw has not been heard in a while. 114-114.. both say they won. two hard men in fairness to them and I'm looking forward to this fight

Re: Whyte v Browne
I will probably put a few quid on Browne KO.
Can’t take to Whyte. No punch power and I’m not convinced he can fight at any type of pace.

Re: Whyte v Browne
Browne Vs whyte should be a tear up . Never been great at predictions but I definitely see Browne winning this probably by KO he seems very confident relaxed and is undefeated.

Re: Whyte v Browne
Whyte continues to be overrated. Browne isn't great but he's better than Whyte for me. I'll take Browne by decision.
Re: Whyte v Browne
I think Browne will spark Whyte and eventually put him out.
Whyte has been busier, except the Viking was not as hard a day at the office as Whyte made it look.
Browne has copped a rough deal the last few years, and he realises this is his biggest chance at a career outside Australia.
Browne is bitter, motivated, and angry to shut Whyte up.

Re: Whyte v Browne
The bookies have Whyte a 2 1/2 - 1 favorite. Most people here pick Browne to win and so do I.
Re: Whyte v Browne
Browne has limited technical skill but is tough as they come and, as Ruslan Chagaev found out, will keep bulldozing forward even when seemingly outclassed and carries a lot of power in both fists. I can see Dillian building up a sizeable lead on the cards but Lucas catching up with him in the championship rounds and forcing a stoppage to silence the home crowd.
Re: Whyte v Browne
ya whyte was pretty overrated a few years ago but i think ppl get the score now. funny to think ppl rated him as a serious puncher and as having a top chin.
but still looking at this poll i think maybe its gone a bit too far the other way now? because while i personally dont think whytes all that much i deffo think hes better than browne. and dont forget that brownes now like 40 and has fought 1 full round in like 2 years
browne is basically an ogre style fighter and he makes even a guy like del look super polished. he may catch whyte and whyte can be hurt. but in the end i like whyte.

Re: Whyte v Browne
also look at chagaev for a pretty good persepctive of how limited browne is. chag had won nearly every round and almost stopped browne. whereas chag could hardly land anything vs in his 40s fres oquendo and only scraped by with the tighest of mds 114-114 and 115-113 x2, and that was at home
browne does have some power and i think is live, but i think whyte has more tools to win

Re: Whyte v Browne
I agree that Whyte has the tools but I am not convinced about his temperament, and a weak temperament is something the likes of Browne will feed on all day every day. It's an intriguing contest for sure and I actually think the result is tougher to call than the following week's heavyweight title affair, which for my money Joshua wins quickly and emphaticallyjamamb wrote: ↑12 Feb 2018, 16:43 also look at chagaev for a pretty good persepctive of how limited browne is. chag had won nearly every round and almost stopped browne. whereas chag could hardly land anything vs in his 40s fres oquendo and only scraped by with the tighest of mds 114-114 and 115-113 x2, and that was at home

Re: Whyte v Browne
A real pick 'em fight this one and I notice it is for the WBC Silver belt.
Now I'm the first one to put their hand up and say I hate all these Mickey Mouse belts. But should Browne win, particularly if he does so in emphatic fashion, he will be right back in the mix.

Re: Whyte v Browne
It definitely won't be a draw. If Browne can't land hes shots he will loose it by massive points difference. If he can land Whyte will be KTFO. Either way it will not be a draw
I think Whytes defense is too leaky. So my guess is Browne will win by KO.

Re: Whyte v Browne
Browne looking old and ponderous, falling behind on points and being stopped in around 9.

Re: Whyte v Browne
Folks, Browne is not a good fighter. Whyte isn't exactly top draw but he will have more than enough to dominate browne and possibly stop him late.

Re: Whyte v Browne
It's either a Browne stoppage or Whyte points imo. Whyte though was getting wobbled by a Helenius jab. So I slightly prefer Browne by stoppage. He looks in much better shape now too. So hopefully he'll still have around 6-7 rounds to stop Whyte before he becomes too tired.
Re: Whyte v Browne
whyte looked gone vs chisora and was all over the place when helenius actually threw, so i dont have the best confidence in his chin and browne at least has some power
but whyte is a much better fighter overall and im pretty confident hell win. also keep in mind that browne was almost gone vs chagaev as well, there was a point right after he got dropped where he was taking shots on the ropes and you felt that at any point the ref could jump in.
browne i feel does have a realistic outside/small chance to score a stoppage, but i would make whyte a solid fav.
