Yes we could take a snapshot of the bout ratings as the bout is entered but the next time the ratings updated it would be out of date.

The rating points for pre bouts on a fighter's record for their fights are outdated right now.

Pre-bout and after-bout ratings are calculated from scratch every day. They are up-to-date.

I'm talking the ones recorded for fights years ago on a current fighter's record

The 'view this bout' page should only have information relevent to that bout on that day. it doesn't even have to be a before and after, just what the rank was that day. Using Loma v Rigo as an example the view this bout page would show it was a super feather weight title bout and Loma was ranked No1 and rigo ranked No1 at super bantam weight. Was he ranked by boxrec at No1 or No2? i think it was No1 but the view this bout page could answer that question for me instantly.

The problem of an inactive fighter with no current rank could be solved by attributing a rank to him that corresponds to his ratings points for that bout with an asterix denoting the fact it's an attributed rank due to inactivity.

Brilliant ideas.

Take AJ for example when he debuted in 2013. The pre and post fight points are there from way back then. So I don't see the difficulty of taking the rank numbers at those times and letting them show as well.

I know what'd help the PTBF competition and I'm sure others would want to see it as well...

Three Future "Big Fights" schedule options:
- 5 star-fights
- For one of the four major World belts
- Unifications for the four major World belts

Bonus points if you could integrate the Ring rankings somehow.

Unless I missed it.. the 5-star fight option is gone.. and you have to go to each individual title to see future bouts.

The schedule, although comprehensive, is not very user-friendly.... I for one, would like to easily navigate future notable fights without having to scan through pages of fights, pick a country, belt, etc.

The 5 Star schedule feature was my favourite part of Boxrec but it's not there any more.

Anton,

1) When I click on the first link, there's isn't a Feb 2 fight between Cameron and Matthews
2) When I click your second link, it takes me to a page with "No Results Found" and nothing else. I'm logged in.

I used to be able to go to Schedule, then filter fights in order of stars. So it would show all the upcoming 5 star fights, all the upcoming 4 star fights, then 3, then 2 etc. It doesn't have this feature any more.

It appears the fight has been cancelled since my post.
Do same on any fight/show. We had to update/change the site to accommodate mobile screens, which atm is around 60% plus.
No doubt, if your're using home PC.......you're pissed off ;-)

How about a separate forum just for fight polls?

Totally fed up of looking at the British forum and having a poll for every single fight or possible fight, then the title being changed , so that half of the thread doesn't make sense as the fight has changed or an opponent has been announced.

Making the forum look a mess IMO. I know I'm not alone in feeling like this.

I’d be happy if the ability to change a thread title was removed altogether; some posters (well, one in particular) just take the piss and change their thread titles regularly and on a whim.

I admit I do a lot of polls. But I never change thread titles.. depending on the situation. I know who you are referring to. I wouldn't bump a thrrad from 6 months ago because TBA has turned into an opponent. :TU:

The most recent title I changed was when Tete's last fight got postponed. Just changed the dates.

When viewing a boxer's record you no longer can see the opponents records or the venue of the fights.
Any chance this will be rectified?

Pretty new here so if any of these have been mentioned ignore them:

I agree with some previous mentioned points:
- showing the rank at the time of the fight.
-I also have a bug only showing one of the two fighters fighting on my watchlist.
-Searching schedule by star rating.
- Identifying the current word level champions in the ranking list. Maybe simply with a belt icon next to their name.

Other points:
-Are there any plans for an app? this would allow push notifications for fighters in the watchlist. Even a simple notification on the watchlist tab would be more useful, to indicate that there is a change in schedule for one of the watched fighters.

-A title history on the boxer profile. Would be most useful for World level belts but anything lower would be a plus.

- I would like to be able to, search for a ranking list from a specific date. For example, search the Heavyweight rankings from 2002.

- Be able to search boxers by age, or a tickbox to search undefeated? This would be good at spotting up and coming boxers. Not essential but could be a useful tool.

Although it would be great I doubt they would build an app, they cost big bucks to do properly and would need updating daily. I can't see what boxrec would get out of it except maybe generate revenue if they charged users a subs fee for it.

Mate, in case you didn't know, 60% plus of traffic is via mobile (most 5.5cm /10.5cm screens) Care to advise us how to satisfy your wish list?

Good point. Was just a thought.

They were just suggestions for improvement, which is what i thought this thread was for... They are free to be turned down because they are unreasonable/not possible or if people think they're bad ideas.

How about changing the title of Off Topic to Pointless Drivel, just to give new members a 'heads up'
