I work in the industry mate and my ability to call someone out on unprofessional practises which are harmful to a colleague does not make me not "great going for a pint."

Agree with this, a summary and link is really the fairest way to do things. I understand why people don't but it's best to do so. Some of the smaller sites depend on those dollars, some writers running independent sites need those pennies to pay their server costs or to even stay encouraged to continue.
