He does my head in. I think he forgets he's not on the radio.

Why he can't just say missed and has to say "missed by a country mile" kills me

He kept referring to their records as ledgers tonight.

Didnt watch the haye promotion on friday but my old man said he managed to use the word “denouement” in commentary. :yay:

Did anyone see adam bloody smith sat ringside during the walsh lowe fight spending most of his time staring at his phone. Poor show from someone in his position.

This is true. He rattles on a bit and some of his phrases are weird but he's clearly someone who loves and knows the sport and doesn't push any narrative. I like him, would listen to him over the vast majority of other commentators that we have to put up with.

They should get him to interview Eubank Sr, at length.

I lost count of the amount of times he said 'a lovely 1-2 salvo' in the gassiev-dorticos fight

He likes 'Stanza' for round.

After watching three distance fights I think I'd had more than enough Ronaldisms by the end of last night. :OhYes:

But to be fair he is a decent commentator, although tries a bit too hard to say something, as most commentators do.
I'm sure him and Richie will be disappointed they didn't spot Groves shoulder injury in round 12. that was poor.

Agree with the gents saying that Ron reads a fight well. He does. He’s a good commentator for sure but would benefit from making more of a distinction between radio and television work.

I like Ronald but i did feel his claim that "Groves is touching him up in the corner" may lead to a defamation law suit at some point in the future.

He said that a few times. I was laughing my head off "Groves is, again, touching Eubank up in the corner".

Monastic refers to monks - so he's saying someone has shown an almost religious level of dedication towards training for example. Good phrase!

The only disappointing aspect of ITV's excellent coverage was that Ron didn't spring out of his commentary chair to do the post fight interviews in the ring. I always enjoy his interminably long questions.
