Re: Round-By-Round - George Groves (WBA) vs. Chris Eubank Jr (IBO) - February 17th 2018
Excellent fight ive got it 117-112 Groves, thought he might get stopped later in the fight after building up a lead but apart from getting nailed with the occasional haymaker he was in full control, great judging of distance easily avoiding the crude Eubank, boxed at times and stood his ground as well, tied up Jr with ease on the inside and Eubank looked clueless, same story as the Saunders fight, Eubank doing too much posing and posturing whilst Groves picked him off with crisp shots, great jab and range, just a lot more schooled than Eubank, he did take a few silly shots but took them well
Eubank never jabbed, was easily manouvered out of the way and the corner work unsurprisingly looked clueless from the little I could hear, he did finally press late on and his heart and chin cant be denied but his limitations were exposed comfortably and so was his boxing IQ, I never seen his uppercuts until the 11th and they weren't successful
Comfortable win for Groves and I feel bit daft for tipping Eubank to win

Prince Naz is crucifying C Eubank Jr. "He's not got the ability". "He won't win big things in the next few years".
Scathing. Fair play for Naz not pulling punches. Unlike the sky team.

Absolutely, I think any top trainer would insist that he isn't aroundbrian13 wrote: ↑17 Feb 2018, 19:20This and Senior needs to GTFO of his career starting as soon as possible.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑17 Feb 2018, 19:16 Jnr has a good chin and a big heart but if he wants to succeed he needs to put his ego in a box and get a proper trainer and do as he's told, otherwise he's going nowhere.

Prince Naz: "He [Groves] showed his heart in beating someone that just isn't that good".
Hard words.
Quite possibly right.

More action between Duke and Prince here than in the fight!

Naz talking sense.
Ugly fight. Eubank's the better fighter. But made the same mistake again.
Groves the better boxer! But a lot of holding and clinching of Eubank's arm.

Eubank Jr. can still be big at 160.

I predicted a Groves win, but the fight was a bit of a let down really.
Eubank couldn't box kippers.
