You must not watch many fights... That wasn't even a bad decision. It was a close fight.. and the wrong guy didn't win.. it was a draw.

Ward-Kovalev was FAR worse. As was Bradley-Pacquiao. As were many others.

Christ, how about Santa Cruz-Casamayor?

Pacquiao has been in a fair few bad decisions in recent years. The Bradley one was shocking. I think the horn decision was boarder line too.

What about Matthysse v Judah. I remember Matthysse dominating this fight I think 8-4 at least.

Martinez v Williams 1 was a shocker. Martinez dominated that fight.

Judah was pretty good in that fight except knockdown. Matthyse-Alexander was bigger robbery. Martinez - Williams was entertaining and close fight, not necesary robbery but ive also scored it for Sergio. If we talk about robberies :

Some of the biggest ones recently...

GGG - Canelo
Ward - Kovalev... Both of them
Pac - Bradley

Lesser ones...

Chisora - Whyte
Parker - Ruiz

Both were close but clear and given to the "A side" even thou they really lost.
Really? Since 2000?
The worst is Bradley-Pac 1
You must be a Ward hater because he won those 2 bouts.

I think Pacquiao - Bradley 1 was among the worst. Pacquiao won about 10, maybe 11 rounds; and they weren't particularly close rounds. The judges had it all the way in the other direction. It was totally ridiculous.

Ben Rabah vs Lovemore N'Dou was pretty bad. IIRC it won robbery of the year.

I have not mentioned Valuev-Holyfield. Honestly, I have never rewatched this match, and it happened ten years (maybe more) ago. I remember the discussion with my friends, it was something like - five persons, five opinions.

If we are allowed to include the top level of the other code, a couple of decisions at the Rio Olympics - Nikitin over Conlan and Yoka over Joyce - were fekn scandalous.

Sven Ottke v Robin Reid

Reid won easy and didn't have a knockdown given.

I don't remember it like that. I remember that the referee was awful, stopped Reid at every opportunity, got him in bother late on in the fight for a legal punch, too.
I may well be wrong on this, but I thought that it wasn't the judging as such, it was the referees interference.

lara-williams was a good mention, just so painful to see that after lara boxed williams head off and showed such a massive gulf in effectivness between them. williams i thought in general was fortunate in a few fights, with judges seemingly swayed too much by his nonstop but slapping and inaccurate punching

as for the amateurs nikitin-conlan imo wasnt the right decision but it was really blown out of porporiton by conlans protest. conlans defense was actually pretty bad and the russian was tagging him over and over with hooks and even shook him. i actually only had it 2-1 in rounds, whereas later in the tournament a khazikstan 200 pound boxer levitt totally clowned a russian for every round of there fight only to lose i think 3-0

with tony yoka it wasnt just the joyce fight, he got several very generous deciions in both the worlds and olympics. none i thought on its own as an awful level robbery, but i thought maybe 4-5 of those fights couldve easily gone against him yet somehow he won all of them. his wife also got a very generous decision in the olympic final vs a chinese.

Yes.

I explained the GGG-Canelo fight in another thread.. in a world where you score a fight as a whole and there is no draw, GGG won the fight.. and he also had the most dominant round, but by rounds using the 10-9 system, I had it 6-6. It was one of those weird fights that was very close, but was mainly blown out of proportion by those who didn't score it and didn't understand the 10-point must system.

Ward-Kovalev, I thought was a different story. I couldn't find a way to get to 7 rounds for Ward.

The same explanation you used for GGG-Canelo being a possible draw is the same explanation that has Ward winning 7 rounds.

If Eubank had got one more clear round against Groves I think we would have contender of year for this topic.

Referee didn't see any of the knock downs kept on warning Groves for every minor thing. Also the scores were way too close. It felt almost like the powers in boxing didn't want Groves to win

Good thing he won by landslide so we don't need to have that talk :yay:

I have just read the 4th (tie breaker) judge scored 115-113 in Eubanks favour. Not sure if true but if so its incredible.

if eubank had gotten one more clear round against groves theres still no way he couldve won is there? best he could do is lose by majority decision i think

on two of the cards there was several points difference

You are right !
Does anybody think ref should have deducted one point from Groves, because of holding ( it would not change the result, btw).

Oops my bad...

I somehow thought it was 115-113 x2...

But it was 115-113, 116-112, 117-112.

Move along people nothing to see here

Robbery probably a bit far fetched and it was a while ago so I'd have to watch it again, but when Hatton fought Collazo all them years ago I felt collazo won. Manhandled him at times, thought it really showed ricky wasn't a true welter and it was a mistake to move up.

He did score a good knockdown in the first round but looked really ruffled later in the fight. All the momentum was building towards the Mayweather fight, just seemed pre-ordained he was gonna win.

Reid won 9 rounds. I'm not familiar with Ottke outside of that fight, but I think a fair few of his wins are considered robberies.

He was scared to death of Joe Calzaghe.
