Currently there is no coach who can fix Eubank because the problem is Senior. Until Senior gets out of his career then Junior will still keep losing fights

I'd go along with the Mayweather Sr suggestion. Purely because it needs someone with an ego to match/surpass that of the Eubank's so they might actually start listening.

Agreed Brian , but they are both too arrogant to recognise it .

Either that or junior is shit scared of him.

It’s too late for him. He’s as fit as a butcher’s dog and hard as nails but he’ll never build the skill set to beat a real world champ.

He's completely one dimensional he can't go forward and terrible feet very slow , he needs to spend time just moving around the ring getting used to going in each direction as he need to improve his movement .

FIRST thing you teach a kid, who walks in the gym , is FOOT PLACEMENT and how to move , forward ,backward ,sidewards , and diaganol , Then

Teach hands up and punch , Then you teach how to do it all together, how to punch while moving , and when ect ect ect.. Eubank skipped all the foot work and went straight to the heavy bag , slipping , and a pad man that stops lets him throw and then , does it again ,

PROBLEM with Eubank , is to go back to basics ,and learn footwork , would be beneath him ,, after all does,nt Ronnie Davis constantly tell everyone , Chris does,nt have to be show n anything , because he,s so good and already knows it,, or was that njust trying to save face, Honnestly don,t know why Davis is with them , they must pay him well , m i

That American guy Apollo Creed would be a good trainer in terms of movement / footwork - he taught that Rocky bloke everything in the space of a five minute montage.

He doesn't go anywhere, in my opinion.

I think we can all agree that Eubank Sr. has become a bit of a liability towards his career. Sr. should be using his name value to bring in the best trainers for his son. Which, though he does to an extent, no value is placed on said trainer's opinion. Sr. is just there to show off, and remind people that he exists. I'm not sure if he even cares about his son's career. He just cares about getting himself the attention. He sure as hell doesn't encourage his son to listen to anybody in the corner who isn't him.

Problem is Jr. has been raised this way, and doesn't know any better. I find it incredibly unlikely that he'll tell his dad to step aside, and go with somebody who will train him properly.

In my opinion, until he does do that, he won't achievement as much as his potential deserves.

Given he was about the most successful fighter who used the style Eubank uses against any top fighters, I think he should enlist the help of John Ruiz

Nearly every reply has said that Senior is the problem - and I do agree to an extent.

However, we need to remember that if Senior wasn’t his dad generating the publicity then he wouldn’t be anywhere near any title, never mind a world title.

Also, Junior has got to a very high level and maybe he has reached his potential irrespective of who trains him.

Jr is getting some real stick. I’ll give him his dues, he is one tough dude. He kept going til the final bell, he took some real hammer and fought with a bad cut.

He’s a warrior in my eyes. He just lacks the fundamentals and a good boxer with enough power is just all wrong for him. He could win a title, but it would be a case of “choosing” the right opponent. I’d love to see him fight Lemiuex.

One thing is certain, he brings excitement and massive cajones. I like his arrogance and self belief, even it is a little delusional

Too late for him to be ‘fixed’ in terms of boxing fundamentals. But he can still have a good career below world level, and he’s an enjoyable guy to watch fight.

If anything, it’s impressive that he’s got as far as he has considering he’s been relying on pure athleticism (and admittedly a bit of careful matchmaking).

I agree, but the delusion is bigger than I first thought, this will be a huge problem for him as he looks to recover from defeats.

There's benefits to being Eubanks son, that's obvious. But I'd say they'd come at the start of his career. Jr. would be afforded better facilities and access to trainers and expertise that other young fighters would not. However, the problems arise when daddy decides to guide his career, rather than let somebody who knows what they're doing.

Sr. is just determined to show off, grab attention and pretend he knows more than anybody else in the sport. Eubank Jr. hasn't been allowed the full benefit of the expertise available to him, purely because Sr. doesn't want him to. Daddy dearest wants to prove that he knows best, in situations where he doesn't.

It's actually quite sad to watch a father cack up his son's career/life like this, just because the need for attention is more important than his kids,

tonyevs wrote: 18 Feb 2018, 14:48 I wouldn’t be sure he and his team think he needs to change styles anyways.

As has been said - he is 28 years old , he is no young guy still learning. He has wasted the years when he could have had solid learning fights to have soft fights to look good on the highlight reel.

I think he stays at s-middle because it’s pretty short on talent there, and he could still pick up a belt; but if he stepped down to middle ... he wouldn’t get anywhere near winning a belt.

I think it’s clear why Eubank snr quickly made excuses to avoid GGG. And if he ever stepped in against Canelo ... ouch!!
He's tough enough to hang in there with Golovkin and Canelo - he's physically very strong at the weight and has a good chin. He'd just get out boxed and outworked.

Without his father, he would be an undercard fighter getting peanuts.

That's my call - he has a track record of making subtle changes to experienced fighers - not radically changing them but addressing weakness. He wouldn't take any shit also. He is very good at just making fighters a bit better in their natural style - whether they are aggressive or back foot fighters.

He really did some very good things with Khan that gets overlooked.
