Favourite at 168lbs is Liverpudlian Callum Smith who starts off at 13/8 (general).SenorPipino wrote: ↑20 Feb 2018, 15:15 I'm not taking sides, but I do recall seeing some wagering websites where Smith was actually made the tourney favorite.
I thought it was somewhat crazy considering that his resume has nary a true quality opponent on it. But that's what the bookies say.
Smith might even be a bigger choice now. Since 7-1 underdog Braehmer pulled out and they replaced him with a virtual novice.
Smith is a whopping 50-1 favorite to pummel unbeaten Holzken on Saturday.
And with Groves very questionable to be ready for the June finals, Smith could easily live up to those surprising pre-tournament odds and win this thing in a walk.
The remainder of the field are priced as follows:
George Groves – 2/1 (Paddy Power)
Chris Eubank Jr – 7/2 (Paddy Power)
Juergen Braehmer – 14/1 (BetVictor)
Avni Yildrim – 18/1 (BetVictor)
Erik Skoglund – 33/1 (general)
Rob Brant – 40/1 (Paddy Power)
