(He excluded himself)
1 Bob Fitzsimmons
2 James J. Jeffries
3 Peter Jackson
4 James J Corbett
5 Sam Langford
6 Sam McVey
7 Joe Jennette
8 John L Sulivan
9 Philidelphia Jack O' Brien
10 Tom Sharkey
11 Gene Tunney
12 Jack Dempsey
Some surprising choices. He obviously wasn't too kind to the champions after him.
I also think it's funny he included Jack O' Brien, but didn't even include Tommy Burns.

Thanks for posting this.
This is interesting. You are right about him not rating those that followed him highly. You would think Dempsey and Tunney would be close to the top. Willard is not rated at all.
Probably the biggest surprise is not having Harry Wills in the Top 12.
He had more trouble with O'Brien than Burns, which may be why he ranked O'Brien and not Burns. Burns always seems to get underrated. Interesting that he has McVey ahead of Jeannette. They were pretty even, for whatever reason Jeannette always seems to rate a bit higher than McVey.

Fitzsimmons who as beaten by Jeffries twice, #1 overall?
No Jess Willard? And O'Brien made the cut?
Some questionable calls.

In fairness Fitz was 36 then 39 in their fights, though he didn't seem to age until his 40s.pound per pound wrote: ↑21 Feb 2018, 16:44Dempsey 12th? More like top 5.BitPlayer wrote: ↑19 Feb 2018, 17:45 (He excluded himself)

Johnson sure didn't care at all for Dempsey, but then again it's NOT surprising to me in the least bit because I have read alot of material on Johnson's thoughts on heavyweights other than himself and he absolutely thought Dempsey was awful and said he wasn't even in Fitzsimmons league in terms of punching power.
