Super just as interim titles should never be marked as vacant, because they are not. They may be "unoccupied", or free, but not vacant. But the vacant title which was on the line for Theophane was not the Super title, if I remember correctly. I'd have to look it up...

If an Interim titles is not held by somebody, and is contested, it must surely be for the vacant interim title.

Nope. An interim title cannot be vacant because in a normal situation, it does not exist.
