Sad to see him go but he is wise enough to know when to hang them up. Involved in some great fights over the years with that right hook bailing him out more than once.

Comes across as a gentleman and I hope he gets a decent media gig out of it. He’s already co-hosting a sports radio show over here and anytime I’ve seen him on Sky, he’s been excellent.

I phoned into Bunce's live show a couple of years back after a few cans. Andy Lee was on the sofa and just chuckled away when I was recounting a story about about being in a strip club in Edinburgh where instead of watching the girls all the blokes demanded the Scott Harrison fight be put on the big TV Seems like a good family man who enjoyed his career. His dress sense wasn't always up to par though.

I don’t think he had the fire in the belly any more. He’s intelligent enough to realise it’s a dangerous game to play when your heart isn’t in it.

Good for him. Class act and one of my ultimate favourites. Really glad he won a world belt, it clearly meant so much to him.
I certainly didn't expect it after the Chavez Jnr loss.

I have many great memories of watching Andy fight, the best of which is a fight that he did not actually win, although it could definitely be considered a resounding moral victory. Peter Quillin came in massively overweight for what was supposed to be a WBO world middleweight title fight in April 2015. The fight went ahead in any case and was, to all intents and purposes, a middleweight taking on a light-heavy. Andy had to get off the canvas in the opening round and again in the third. Not only was he able to survive but rallied to put Quillin on his ass in the seventh. It was the first knockdown Peter had ever suffered. At the end of twelve pulsating rounds, the three judges ruled the fight a draw. Andy would have forfeited the title had he lost and had every right to refuse to compete after his opponent came in so heavy, but that just was not in keeping with the warrior heart that beat within. His retention of the title with the drawn verdict represented a certain justice.

Andy has decided to call time on his boxing career at the relatively young age by today's standards of 33. I for one wish him all the very best for a happy and contented retirement and hope he goes on to enjoy success with his future plans.

Someone that has grabbed a win on the edge of defeat on so many times. Always loved watching him, seems a real nice bloke as well.

The Korobov win was a very good one.

I’ve seen so much of Korobov over the years, he’s a top fighter.
Lee was getting outboxed but had a great ring IQ. Managed to walk him onto one, he stunned him and he went for the finish with so much intensity there was zero chance he was letting him off the hook.

Always thought he was going to be just short of world class. The run of Jackson, Korobov and Quinlan was a pleasant surprise.
Very nice bloke away from the ropes.
