Boxrec Jolly Up. New York. August.

Post by Taansend »

If Joshua fights in New York in August do any of my fellow casuals want to meet up in the Big Apple?

It's also just before my 50th so will be a good way to die of a heart attack :OhYes:

Joshua won't take many over so you'll be able to pick up tickets easy enough...

how strong is the attachment to aj himself? will he get that many going over? i mean id bet some would go for the event but id imagine travvelling to ny for most would require a strong connection to the man himself?

will be interesting to see. would be fun if he can bring the type of wild atmosphere hatton did, give the usa shows some life for once.

thinking of hatton fights reminds me of how boring as fornicate most us fight atmospheres are. its almost always foreign fans who spice it up. brits for hatton, and poles for guys like adamek.

I’m not sure how many of AJ’s fans would travel to New York tbh. Lots would probably travel to Vegas though.

August in New York?

I reckon at least 5000 British would go.

More if there's a very good British v US fight on undercard

I actually think AJ brings a shit load over for it. NY is easy to get to. He amount of absolute weapons you see at fights these days dressed like a Poundland version of Hearn is unbelievable. They'll be all over a trip to NY for second coming of Ali.

Would be loads out there. Amount of Brits already probably booked in now just for a holiday load of them would try and get tickets and the amount specifically going would be massive.

That said the atmosphere would just be a load of "ooooh Anthony Joshua" every couple of minutes so nothing that amazing but a step up from the average American atmosphere.

You can get return flights for around £300 to new york and only around 7 hour flight. I can see a fair few going over. Cant think of anything worse. Going to USA to watch a Mexican or American fighter is much better experience than watching a British fighter anywhere in the world with all the idiot casual fans.

Not in the school holidays, if it was the absolute end of August might be some reasonable prices.

Haha scared of losing my mind listening to diots talk sh*te.

Watched the Eubank fight in a sports bar in Germany. Some English idiot on a stag do stood infront of me wasnt even watching the fight for about 80% of it was just messing around with his mates, then was outraged at the decision. Was sure Eubank had won it.
