116-111? No way on earth! But good to see the underdog rewarded

Well done ronnie Clark brilliant win
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Tony Averlant - 24 February 2018
Fair play, that is a big win - hopefully his brother will be on later soon
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Tony Averlant - 24 February 2018
Just got home for the last two rounds of Barrett Clark.
Cracking couple of rounds.
Well done Clark & Barrett will have learnt more from that then his previous 17 fights combines.

Popular winner. I gave it to B by a point but some rounds difficult to score so no arguments. Clark the type of winner we all like, honest journeyman who must be over the moon tonight, but didn't think he'd get the decision.

Where does Zelfa go now? A few easy fights for the rest of the year and then try again?

Rounds weren't too difficult to score. Good showing from both lads. Wanted Zelfa to win though.

GET IN THERE RONNIE CLARK, superb win and career best performance, ive seen a lot of Clark' fights and ive nevr seen him as good as that, he was strong, busy, aggressive, his southpaw pressure gave Barrett kittens and Zelfa couldnt handle it, Ronnie just had that look, the eye of the tiger where you knew he wouldn't be denied, I had it about 116-113, a couple of even rounds in there, Barrett should've had a point docked for low blows but it didn't matter as it just spurred Clark on
I'll admit I thought Barrett was gonna win this and Ronnie was the name for him to look good against, I know Ronnie had a tough year and I wasn't sure where his head was at but the time out seems to have rejuvenated him, that knockdown was top drawer and I'm surprised Barrett recovered

Well his previous 19 easy fights didn’t prepare him for tonight - his uncle needs to offer Ronnie good money for an immediate rematch (although I wouldn’t blame Ronnie for wanting a couple of defences before going again).Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 17:41 Where does Zelfa go now? I hope Barrett isn't discouraged. That was a good fight to learn from.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Tony Averlant - 24 February 2018
I don't think they would be confident enough they would get the win in the rematch to take that option.bripez wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 17:51Well his previous 19 easy fights didn’t prepare him for tonight - his uncle needs to offer Ronnie good money for an immediate rematch (although I wouldn’t blame Ronnie for wanting a couple of defences before going again).Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 17:41 Where does Zelfa go now? What a great fight that was and Zelfa was fantastic too.. That Uppercut would have put 99% of people out and he got up and took some cracking shots.. 116-111 is what I had it .. Ronnie can box when he wants and he hits hard very very proud and with the close fights he’s lost he deserved that.. Hopefully he kicks on and builds on that performance. As for Zelfa a wee move upto lightweight and a few fights and he will do well still a future world champion in my eyes. definitely the best boxer Ronnie has been in with.. Thanks for the nice comments he will like them when he reads this
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Tony Averlant - 24 February 2018
That was boring and predictable (Gorman v Dessaux, I mean), a wasted five minutes of my life that I'll never get back.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Tony Averlant - 24 February 2018
They were talking about world titles last week - if they aren’t confident of beating Clark after having 20 fights then they will need to re-evaluaterd350lc wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 17:55I don't think they would be confident enough they would get the win in the rematch to take that option.bripez wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 17:51Well his previous 19 easy fights didn’t prepare him for tonight - his uncle needs to offer Ronnie good money for an immediate rematch (although I wouldn’t blame Ronnie for wanting a couple of defences before going again).Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 17:41 Where does Zelfa go now? Company man Bunce towing the party line like a good boy - refusing to criticise the overmatched palooka just served up for Gorman
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Tony Averlant - 24 February 2018
Exactly...and he tries to justify it by comparing Frank Bruno's opponents, and tonight isn't the first time he's done that.MightyWarrior wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 17:58 Company man Bunce towing the party line like a good boy - refusing to criticise the overmatched palooka just served up for Gorman
For the record, Bruno was due to fight Alfredo Evangelista in his 12th fight until Evangelista pulled out.
That French guy was always going to get clubbed to defeat in a couple of rounds, he was a shite opponent and there's no getting away from it.
I understand some guys are pricing themselves out but some of these opponents are woeful.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Tony Averlant - 24 February 2018
I think there will definitely be some re - evaluating after such a tough night and Barrett has some good skills and will come again as they said ,but I think it'll be a easing back in situation.bripez wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 17:57They were talking about world titles last week - if they aren’t confident of beating Clark after having 20 fights then they will need to re-evaluate

DL Jones is unbeaten but he hasn't beaten a fighter with a winning record. The only fighter he faced with a winning record ended in a 6 round draw.

DDD will probably fight for the WBO Euro belt soon..
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Tony Averlant - 24 February 2018
DDD is a big strong guy with some thudding shots, but beforehand they compared him to Tyson which is a deluded insult. His punches are a bit pushy and ponderous, like he is punching underwater or in treacle
