I know nothing about Visser but I'm not remotely surprised that Machimana got stopped by anyone half-decent.

Hopefully Visser can go on to prove worthy of what was, back in the day, a very respectable South African heavyweight title.

For decades SA was turning out world class heavyweights one after another. Machimana here was, sadly, the late great Corrie Sander's final fight. CS didn't train for it at all. He hated to train. I think he could have been the best of them all if he did. Wlad had the misfortune to encounter him the one time in his life he very seriously trained for a fight. And then inexplicably he showed up for the followup with big brother Vitali fat - and still he was just missing Vitali with bombs all night long.

Ruann Visser is another giant, 6' 9 1/2". He's 13-1 with 12 KO's.

He's a very big lad but can he fight? Knocking out Machimana doesn't give much of a clue about that.

no, looks like he doesnt know how to box at all and had no amateur career. id be shocked if he legitimately beat a decent heavyweight. he makes ty fields look excellent

but hey its not so bad for him, hes 6'9 and we arent

on the link thebeast posted you can see some other footage, awful technique and not genuine ko power

seems just like a huge decently athletic guy who wanted to try boxing and bought a bunch of easy opponents

I'm not so sure about that (not so bad being 6' 9") Call me old fashioned but I like to see who I'm making love to :D

Also your upkeep and running costs - grocery bills, clothing, etc are going to be that much greater. It helps if being so big can enable you to earn big too!

true, although youd be an expert at changing light bulbs and could then give yourself a grand nickname like 'the giant king'

There's this wondrous technological advancement known as a stool, you may have heard of it? :D

yes but the pride of changing a light bulb is even greater when one can do it without outside assistance

ruann can change bulbs we could only dream of changing (without a stool)

and what if there is no stool

I'd like to think that changing a lightbulb without the aid of a stool isn't one of my greatest accomplishments. It's probably not even top 4

I seem to recall Manchimana getting sparked by David Price a while back. Going to have look into Visser to see if he will go far.
