He was good to watch. Gave a decent account of himself against Rios I thought. His fight with Mitchell was a cracker.

Really? I thought the Rios fight showed his limitations at world level. Same type of fighter as Murray, just better at it. I don't know if any amount of clean living and good preparation could overcome the talent deficit that meant John had slow feet, slow hands, and didn't hit all that hard at world level. Some movement from the waist here and there may have helped too. But I really didn't see Murray getting beaten pillar to post by Rios and think 'wow here's a guy who belongs at world level if he fulfils his potential'. He got smashed by a bloke who is way below elite at world level himself.

I thought he done alright against Rios up until the later rounds. He was a bit of a mess at the end though wasn't he?

I thought he held his own against Rios but faded towards the end, he didn’t live the life like he should of he was out boozing 2 weeks before the lee Meager fight and was out smashed in a bad state few weeks before Mitchell fight, I’ve heard he isn’t reliable trainer too

What’s with Murray’s profile picture on Boxrec?

Shades of Kevin Mitchel in that homo-erotic Hammers poster in full cock feeder mode!

Rios was world class at 135 pre alvarado 1 I think.

Ritson should demolish murray.

No doubt Riston starts as favourite

But 5/1 for Joe to win is an attractive bet.

At the time of turning over Joe was really being hyped for big things beyond his brother John who was doing very well at the time.
Bad move signing with Hatton Promotions after the olympics. Heart ruled head there.

Feel like ritson will break his heart. Joe has said all the wrong things in the past, like about quiting the sport, shows a weak mindset.

29 years old, 6 years a pro and 19-1 boxes a lad 4-3-1 what’s the point?

It must be a really good mate to buy a ticket for that.

Dull as a 5W light bulb

As a side I Bet hardly anyone buys a ticket for the low key untelevised shows unless they “know” one of the fighters .
shocking how many of the untelevised pro shows have a line up mostly comprised of complete mismatches. It’s actually generous to describe many of the fights as mismatches, that implies it’s a match to start with. Waaayyyy too many lads being matched against fighters who’ve only come to survive and not be KOd.
