Groves has requested to postpone the final of the Super Middle tourny.
Has shoulder surgery today and wants the fight put back until July.
George Groves request postpone
Re: George Groves request postpone
Fair enough. What usually happens when a shoulder comes out it stretches the tendons holding it in place and there's always a danger of it popping out again. So they'll probably go in and tighten things up but it immobilises you for a couple of weeks and then you need some physio. He might have made it for 2 June but probably not worth the risk.
Re: George Groves request postpone
Logic would dictate that his request is accepted, it's the ideal outcome for everyone.

I know there was talk that there would be a replacement but GG deserves to be in the final, it'll be a shamble if he's not.

This is fair.
A dislocated shoulder can be problematic in the future if you don't rest it fully & complete your physiotherapy after surgery, so Groves should be afforded time to heal properly.
It would be a travesty if Chris "I can't box" Eubank Jr was given a spot in the final after his clueless performance against Groves.

Re: George Groves request postpone
I cannot see the WBSS decsion makers not accepting a postponement for the only world champion in the SMW tournament.
It would destroy the credablitiy of the final.
Let groves recover. He will need his left to be fully healed to jab callums head away.

Re: George Groves request postpone
Kalle Sauerland did say to ifl that there was room for maneuver if it was just a few weeks or so, so I can't see this being denied if we're only talking July.
Let's face it, Eubank getting the gig would be a complete joke, after his performance last week. The only other option (Braehmer - wasn't eliminated in the ring, so they could argue the toss a bit) would be a massive anticlimax too.

Re: George Groves request postpone
the tournament at 168 already had credibility issues, not having groves in the final would give it even more
