abayomi miller

Post by the power »

six or seven years ago i attended an england v. USA amateur international at bethnal green, london. the most impressive guy on the bill was a featherweight named abayomi miller who just oozed class. i think he may have been from the california area but could be wrong. can anyone update me as to what became of him. he had so much talent its a shame if its gone to waste.

Yami dropped out of sight many years ago. He had a hard time staying out of trouble. One of the most talented kids I knew and a real waste of talent.

I attended a USA Boxing camp at NMU in the Summer of 1992, and "Yumi" was also there. He was part of the program with Al Mitchell. IIRC, we(all the boxers) voted him outstanding boxer at the camp. He was very impressive, and I fully expected to hear about him being on the 1996 Olympic Team, but it never came to be.

I thought that I saw him in an ad for boxing equipment, but I don't know how recent that was.

How did you dig up a post that was 10 years old and why?

Speaking of Toledo, what ever happened to Adarryl Johnson from Fremont which is not far from Toledo? Johnson was a national JO champ around '92-'93 and was really good.

I have seen both of them within the last two years. I wish that if people do not have something positive to say about others that they say nothing at all. We do not know what circumstances people go through and whatever purpose God has for them it will be fulfilled. It is really upsetting when you think well of someone and they bash whenever they get a chance.

Ron...I don't see anybody bashing anybody else. The guy brought up a 10 year old post to say Miller is still around and I asked why he brought up such an old post just to say that. Besides that, you have seen Adarryl? I hope he is doing well. He was a nice young man and a heck of a boxer. I wonder what sidetracked his boxing career because he had so much potential.
