My point has been made though. I could probably list more than a dozen decision victories that took place at Madison Square Garden that resulted in fight fans aggressively questioning. It didn't take me long to name a few bouts from last year alone that people argued over on this forum.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 11:51Not THAT controversial. Where close scores.. That's good. You thought of them quick. I was just wondering why you went back to the 90's at first.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 12:00

Historical significance, plus it was also the first bout that quickly sprung to mind.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 12:11That's good. You thought of them quick. I was just wondering why you went back to the 90's at first.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 12:00

Bad decisions happen everywhere, but fight fans prefer to perpetuate myths of corruption and conspiracy theories, as well as dismissing anything that challenges their beliefs.
The biggest fights in America tend to happen in Las Vegas, because of the tax rules in Nevada, coupled with the extra gate receipt and miscellaneous revenue that can be generated there.
When controversial decisions happen elsewhere in the US, the fights aren’t usually as high-profile as those that take place in Las Vegas, so the media doesn’t cover them as much.
That’s the reason why Las Vegas has such a bad reputation, but people don’t tend to consider this.

The difference of MSG vs Vegas is that in NY, Golovkin would be seen more as a home fighter than Canelo.

GGG needs to push the pace right away this time, instead of waiting a couple of rounds.Heretic wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 10:28 Am I the only one who sees this going exactly like the first one?
There is of course the chance for either landing the perfect punch for the KO win but that's quite unlikely to happen. Both have great chins.
Canelo can't fight for full 3 minutes in rounds. He doesn't have the stamina for that. GGG can't catch Canelo who's going to be on hes bike for the whole fight. GGG being the more active of the two should win the rounds just like the last time. Official verdict can be whatever the vegas crooks wan't it to be.
If I ever wanted fight to end in KO this would be the one![]()
Will Canelo fight like the true Mexican warrior he says he is, or embarass his countrymen by running and doing his best Floyd imitation?
I think GGG will win the decision by 9 to 3 in rounds in reality, but by split decision on the cards.

The ONLY thing that could possibly be on GGG's side is the fact that most feel he was robbed in the first one. Manny was robbed against Bradley in their first fight and in the rematch, all of the close rounds were given to Manny early in that fight before he ran away with it late.
But I think that Oscar is too brazen for his own good and he'll do anything aside of furnishing fishnets to keep Canelo as the top dog in boxing. That's why i still say that GGG needs a KO to get a win...just like he needed in the first one. Stupid fight.

I'm tempted to go this fight again. I see Canelo doing more and winning by a few clear rounds

theres no evidence at all from the first fight that ggg can even hurt canelo, let alone ko him

As I said in another thread, Mexican athletes will continue to test positive for clenbuterol as long as that country allows low levels of the substance in its meats.
It's found in the systems of millions of ordinary Mexican citizens.
And the trace amount of the drug is so minimal that it has no beneficial effect as a PED.

I use to hear all the time that the USADA was more lenient than VADA, but that was mostly because Floyd used USADA. VADA has now proven that it is less stringent, not more.
Erik Morales received a 2 year ban by USADA by testing positive for the same drug, Clenbuterol, and offered the same excuse, tainted meat. Maybe since he was at the end of his career, it made a difference? Truth be told, its all about money.
The funny thing is, if Canelo somehow beats GGG, this will taint his victory. Some claim the amount found is so small that it is not performance enhancing? Some also forget with the short half life of clenbuterol, maybe it was almost out of his system, but only a trace left.

Andrade: I'm Ready To Replace Canelo, Fight Golovkin on May 5
Undefeated, two-time world champion Demetrius Andrade (25-0, 16 KOs) is ready and available for a showdown with unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, should Canelo Alvarez not be cleared by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on April 10th for his May 5th rematch with Golovkin.
Andrade, who is ranked number 1 by the WBO in the middleweight division, feels that if Alvarez is not cleared by the commission for his recent positive test for Clenbuterol, he would be the most obvious candidate to face Golovkin.
Andrade stated, "I am ready, willing and able to step to the plate on May 5th to fight Golovkin. I am always in the gym, and I will start VADA testing right now. I guarantee that I will pass all the tests. I know other fighters can't say the same thing. I am undefeated, and a two-time world champion. Golovkin went through a period where nobody wanted to fight him. I am that guy now. The man nobody wants to fight. Everyone says what does Demetrius Andrade bring to the table? Besides being the best American middleweight, and one of the top 3 middleweights in the world, everyone knows who I am, and the know how good I am. My question is to those who say that I don't bring anything to the table. What did Murray, Adama, Geale, Monroe and Rosado bring to the table? None of the top contenders want to fight me so I believe that if Canelo is unavailable for May 5th, I want the opportunity to face Golovkin for the unified middleweight championship of the world."
