In a streetfight my money would be on Hatton ripping him a new arsehole to go with the one in the middle of his face.

Don't mistake boxing skills for streetfighting skills. Ali might have whupped Liston, Frazier and Foreman, but any one of those three men would have murdered him in a fight in an alleyway.
Bollox, just because Ali/Mayweather don't have huge 1punch power doesnt meant they cant hold their own on the street, speed/accuracy is pretty important in street fights. Hatton doesn't even hit particularly harder than Mayweather. The fight would be broke up after 5 seconds anyway
There is a reason these guys are movers.....because they dont like the rough stuff.

Ali went toe2toe with Foreman, Mayweather doesn't move too much he shoulder rolls. They can fight. In contrast Hattons been in 1 real fight in his life - Tyszu

This is just my opinion.......

The reason Ali went....or should i say had to go toe to toe was because he was forced into it...if the Ali that fought big George was the Ali that fought Liston...he would of danced all night i have no doubt
I dont think Ali wanted to be on those ropes with George raining on him...

You lot are fools if you haven't seen either of them actually streetfight. Speculating over bullshit.

At the end of the day, let's stick on topic, Mayweather is playing mind games with Hatton. Hatton being who he is isn't scared of anyone, but he would get his square head boxed off. I'd love to see it.
i agree...PBF is clearly trying to get inside ricky's head, the same way he did with chico corrales & arturo gatti!! i dont think he expects to intimidate hatton, but if he can make him angry enuf, he MAY be able to pull hatton away from his game plan, which is basically what he did with corrales (like what b-hop did with trinidad)...

Reading in between the lines, for PBF to behave like that off camera especially when Hatton was being very polite towards him shows me that PBF is very afraid of Hatton.

They'll be making £millions , both should remain professionals out of the ring!

They really are two different things.

Derek 'Decca' Simpkin had an indifferent pro record but I reckon he can go some in a pub fight!
They are different things, but there is a poster on here (I wont name him openly) who had over 100 amatuer fights but only half a dozen pro fights. He had hands like lightning.

he was always getting into fights in pubs, but not starting them.

I saw him lay out three squaddies in a pub with a three punch combo. It was like something out of a film.

If the boxer can get his punches in early, he will usually win.
I saw a semi pro boxer at university smash the shit out of about 7 rugby lads. It was quite a scene. One of the lads who was sitting at the next table was drunk and he was singing some stupid rugby song and swinging his pint around. The pint was wet, and flew out of his hand, and travelled through the air before smashing into the face of a girl at the next table. The girl turned out to be the girlfriends of said semi pro fighter.

At that, all hell broke loose, there was a barrier in between the two tables, which the guy vaulted and proceeded to pummel the guy who he thought had thrown the pint deliberately. All the Rugby lads rushed him, but as they tried to get across the barrier he just kept on punching them as they came into range, it was like one of those duck hunts at the fair. I don't think one of them got a shot in.

Knockout, did you see the incident I'm on about? I think the guy was thrown out of the uni the next week.

As for Hatton v Mayweather, of course it's all speculation of course, but in a down and dirty fight, which would probably end on the floor (see Tyson and Lewis for an example, or Hide v Bennt) you'd have to fancy the stockier man.

As for Ali going toe-to-toe with Foreman, that's cobblers, he lay on the ropes getting whacked in the guts for round after round and waiting until Foreman tired. That's not the same as standing there slugging away, and if he had, he would have been battered. Ali always fought off the back foot against big strong men like that until they slowed and he could let his shots go.

One of my mates used to be pretty good at judo and I myself boxed. I'm telling you if you don't KO someone like that quick and let them get a grip of anything on your body you're f**ked! He was about 10 stone and about 5'8 and he used to get guys 16 stone and 6'2 plus on the floor.

As for Hatton/Maywether, I think Hatton wins inside and outside the ring. All the yanks are going on about how good he is but when he stops running I'll put money on Hatton beating him.

I think inside the ring this is a very hard one for Hatton. He will need to demonstrate a level of skills on the inside that we haven't seen from him yet.

When Duran beat Leonard, he was able to do so because he was able to make him stand and trade for long periods, even then Leonard had more than a few moments, and that was also because he got inside Leonard's head bigtime. I don't think Hatton is anywhere near as good as Duran in terms of skill, he relies on physical strength a lot more than Duran, and doesn't have anything like as good a defence.

Who wants to get hit when they can win without doing so? Point is he can fight toe-toe when called upon to do so.

I think so, he intimidated Gatti into freezing, and makes other fighters pissed or to feel inferior. Neither are conjusive to a good performance against Mr P4P

Same as a semi-pro footballer I'd expect - ie a guy that gets paid to compete and trains reasonably seriously, but who does something else during the week to put food on the table.

Gets hazier with boxing, I'll admit. With football if you go pro, you're in training every morning and the odd afternoon, with a game or two a week. After you've been to the bookies and given it the big I Am around town, there's not much time for a 12 hour shift down the pit. Guys like Krence must be earning half reasonable money for their fights, but if they only fight every 2 or 3 months they need another income. Scott Dann was still doing a bit of painting & decorating between fights until not long ago. May well still be for all I know!

It's guys like Keith Jones that amaze me - factory shift in the mornings, gym in the evenings, and 100 fights all around the country. You have to have huge respect for those guys.

So acting like an immature wanker and getting told to get to fornicate is what passes for intimidation and mind games? mayweather is obviously stupider than i gave him credit for.

Look, Maywaether obviously doesn't care about friends in the boxing game, and rightly so. fornicate making friends, most of it is only fake anyway. He's out for one thing, and that's money. Can't fault him for that.
