WBA is useless for their multiple belts shit.

WBC is useless because they fail to enforce mandatory challengers.

IBO has not gained recognition and thank god (or atheism) for that.

All the trinkets are pretty much useless.

the problem is without them there is just endless ducking. All fighters who have managed to transcendence over the belts have been some of the worst cherry pickers of all times. I am talking about Mayweather and Canelo here if you were wondering :-P

Could we all just pick the IBF for example and trash all the others? One belt to rule them all?

The IBF is the worst.

No, we can't have one belt, because it won't make as much money.

The belts aren't really the problem, it's the lack of unifications that is the problem.

I honestly wouldn't mind of we just ditched all the alphabet belts and left it to 3rd parties, like boxrec and the ring to recognise champions.

In our dreams eh? The important thing right now is not to allow any more tinpot orgs throw yet another belt into the ring, non-profit or not, its ridiculous that we have 4 already. The Ring Magazine could have helped sort this situation out by negotiating with the four alphabet orgs but as soon as Goldenboy bought it the credibility plummeted. How can it be impartial when a promotional organisation like them can just buy it?

I have enough problems already explaining the 4 belt farce to casual fans without adding more. They don't usually stick around either, remember the WBF etc? I spent some time with a young lad at work today carefully explaining that David Benavidez is the current WBC super-middleweight champion NOT Callum Smith, it really is difficult to understand for most people.

Groves did the right thing in my opinion, lets stop this bullshit once and for all

I just thought dropping the belt so soon was a bit harsh on Jr, that and his father's legacy is all he had..

It serves the Eubank's right for pretending that Junior was a legitimate world champ, they conned a lot of casual fans into believing it too. Now they can all see the Emperors new clothes . . . .

Agree completely. No point trying to validate a 5th version of a world title. Things are bad enough as they are

It's a reflection on the worth of any sanctioning body when they're chasing after the fighters.

They're basically just chasing the percentages from the purses like a sales person would chase a commission

Yeah it's why the belt has no value at the top.

Top fighters want good belts so they look credible, so they'll be after the holder. The IBO wants top fighters to make it look credible.

If the BBBoC didnt support the IBO like they do not support other commissions closer to home we wouldnt have these titles around on ppv events making them out to be worthy titles.

While i have no problems with these the BBBoC have to take some responsibility being in their pockets.

There are too many titles as it is but if they stay within their league its not an issue.

Respect to George for doing this.
The IBO is a pointless trinket so why sacrifice 3% of your hard earned for it.

I like the point that this makes, George is the WBA champion and has another big fight coming against Callum Smith. Why does he need the IBO bauble? He beat Eubank Jnr pretty convincingly, that's what people will remember.

I might be wrong but I don’t think Groves even held the IBO belt after the fight.

Yeah get rid of the IBO belt and keep the much more prestigious WBA super belt ( or what ever its called?)

It's about money the reason behind dumping it nothing else.
