would ortiz or parker be the better win

assuming similar level of convingness

i think its ortiz easy but i rate parker lower then most. i have ortiz 4th and parker i think 8th, and that may be generous since i thought he arguably lost to ruiz and hughster.

I think Ortiz in a fait fight. If Wilder can win it, in a fair way, he earned his place in the top 3 of the world.

All you have to do is ask yourself: Who would the oddsmakers favor in an Ortiz vs Parker matchup?

That will give you the answer.

Few years ago it would have easily been Ortiz. Now days I just don't know. How much does the big cuban have in tank?

Couple of more years and no one would pick Ortiz over Parker...

Ortiz has a formidable reputation. Parker can claim to be approaching his prime and is free from any suggestion that he might be past it. They should both be good wins (if indeed wins is what they turn out to be) but unless Parker goes on to achieve greater things in the future, then I would say the name of Luis Ortiz will look more impressive in the win column.

Having said that Parker holds the WBO belt whereas Ortiz cannot claim to have been any kind of world champion. so you could make a case for either.

Ask me after Saturday when we'll know just what a 39 (cough, cough ... ahem) year old Ortiz can bring to the table.

I believe Luis Ortiz to be: a hyped-up; overrated; past-his-prime (due to persistently declining performance levels, coupled with his age); multiple offending drug cheat; that was previously bestowed a premature honorary rite of passage to being regarded as the best heavyweight on the planet by many so-called boxing aficionados, without them requiring the need for verification by seeing the Cuban face the very best available opposition.

Joseph Parker is considerably younger, defeated better quality opposition, consistently shows signs of improvement and is far more accomplished than the Cuban, due to actually being a world champion.

I don’t want to sound too harsh on the Luis Ortiz, because I don’t have any real reason to dislike him (barring testing positive for banned substances twice), but he has received an awful lot of hype from the media, such as HBO, Sky & Showtime, despite not having accomplished anything significant in the sport, coupled with delivering a few unimpressive displays over recent years, as well as being clearly older than his “official” age.

Joseph Parker should be considered the better victory for AJ than Luis Ortiz will be for Wilder, especially considering the strong likelihood that the Kiwi will be far more competitive against the current top-dog of the heavyweight division than the Cuban will be against the relatively unproven American. :TU:

The version of Ortiz that beat Jennings would be the better win. In the past 15 months, Ortiz has only fought 2 clubfighters, he's turned 38, and commissioners / Wilder have said they don't think Ortiz should be fighting anymore on account of high blood pressure. So I really have no idea what the current version of Ortiz brings to the table. I would prefer to actually witness the fight in order to judge what kind of Ortiz showed-up.

Parker. Ortiz has one good win, and honestly Jennings was a bit overblown because an aged Wlad beat him less impressively than he usually beat opponents. Between the two of them, Ortiz has the better single win but Parker has the better overall resume, title, and age.

But because the division is so abysmally thin right now, both wins are very very good.
