I figure Holyfield vs Gassiev or Bowe vs AJ are the most interesting matches there. At least the ones I'd want to see the most anyway.

Pac and Floyd. Prime against Prime. I would bet my left testicle that Pac would win :box:

Either of the Klitchkos against Ali or Foreman.

Loma and Mayweather would be another interesting one.

Marquez vs Duran. War, War never changes.

Miller vs Frazier. Just to see how things look without the rose tinted classes.

Helenius before the injuries against current Joshua, Wilder and Parker. I would like to know what could have been.

Heretic, in this thread I have put one retired against one active boxer.
Considering Helenius, he is my greatest disappointment since 2000. He and Solis..................

I should learn to read more than just the thread title :OhYes:

Yeah Helenius is frustrating guy. Has the skill, size, chin power... full package. But hes lazy trainer and always injured.

I voted Wilder-Holy because I have no idea what would happen.

Some of the others would be close and/or dull decisions.

I'd be picking Holyfield to stop Wilder around the 6th or 7th round. He could box and move enough to frustrate Wilder and stay from his power early, and at some point he'd find the mark on Wilder's chin and attack until he finished him.

I've seen nothing yet from Wilder to suggest he'd be able to win at that level particularly considering he'd most likely have to outbox Holyfield because Holyfield was hard as a rock.

Wilder can punch and could hurt Holy. Cooper, Bowe and others did. So I'd give Wilder a puncher's chance. Perhaps we will know more about Wilder in <48 hours.

Yeah, but no matter what happens Holyfield is a level or two above Ortiz. I've never seen anything from Ortiz to put him on the same level as Holyfield or anywhere near it.

Ortiz was an excellent Cuban amateur, so he always gets points for that. Ironically, even though I don't think about Ortiz a whole lot, he's a personal record for me as I've seen him fight live at least 4 times. Very workmanlike and methodical.

Believe it or not I've only ever attended 1 Pro Boxing card Live in the flesh. I'd definitely attend more if I lived in an area where significant Boxing events were more prevalent. Not a lot happens down here in my neck of the woods.

I was living in Florida at the time and saw 5 of Ortiz' first 7 fights.

What did you think about seeing boxing in the flesh? Was it different than you expected? Which card did you see?

All fights except of Hopkins vs Alvarez and Jones vs Groves would be very interesting for me. I'd also would pay to watch David Tua (1996) vs Alexander Povetkin (2014) fight.

I had seen some amateur cards before, and even taken part in one of them in the ring, but this was my first Professional fight card. It was a little different than I expected, but overall I was just struck by how much different it all feels when you're there. I got to watch from Press Row as I was covering the event for TTR. It was a Toe to Toe Tuesday card down in Alexandria last July. I might get to cover more if they do more around here.

I talked to Christopher Brooker right after his loss to Ahmed Elbiali. He was pretty animated about the whole thing, and was claiming foul, and showing me his back where he believed he'd have a bruise from one of Elbiali's blows

I also met Lamon Brewster and Sergio Mora down there. I was pretty surprised to run into Lamon Brewster at an event like that down here.

I am going to come at from a different angle or two with.

James Toney v Roy Jones at Cruiserweight (just after RJJ beat John Ruiz)
Plus Jones Jnr v Vasily Jirov in that window at Cruiser.

Looked the card up. Michael Marrone was on it. In Florida, when he was undefeated, they they were passing him off as a great white hope. Not so much. I remember your pic with Lemon Brewster. :TU:

Those relatively small shows are great. I remember being on a beer line with D. Williamson.

That fight is only interesting if you could strip the two of them of all of their emotions. Especially Vitali. Vitali wouldn't have it in him to beat up his little brother. He's always been very protective of him and it showed. I can't imagine he'd ever be able to really beat him up to the best of his ability.

Howard Davis jr. Vs Floyd Mayweather jr. Howard would put a whipping on him, but it would be interesting to see how Floyd's defense could make it close or not.

Evander Holyfield vs Deontay Wilder. Would be interesting to see if Evander could impose his will on Deontay.
