Dmitry Bivol v Sullivan Barrera

Post by Ilya Muromets »

Another big light heavyweight fight this Saturday 3 March in MSG. The books have the Russian an 8 to 1 favorite over the Cuban.

Bivol's got all the potential in the world..But Barrera is legit. This is an interesting matchup

I find the odds staggering.

Bivol is fairly unproven in a brief pro career.

Barrera has proven himself against Shabranskky, Smith and Valera (same as Bivol.)

So, he lost to Ward. Everyone does.

Barrera does have a penchant for being knocked down and maybe oddsmakers feel that it's a weakness that the hardpunching Bivol will exploit.

Bivol will probably win. But I'd be surprised if he steamrolls Barrera the way that a 8-1 favorite should.

Been watching a lot of Bivol today and god dam he looks good. Lovely to watch so far but untested. Barrera has always looked....lacklustre...I’m hoping Bivol makes a statement.

Sullivan Barrera will adopt a cautious approach for his bout against Dmitry Bivol and will start slowly, but he’ll get jumped on from the get-go against the Russian, which will result in the Cuban getting dropped early.

Barrera’s lack of cerebral approach (ring IQ) to his bouts, means that he won’t be able to overcome adversity in this fight and adapt to the early pressure he’ll be under, which will probably result in the Cuban getting stopped inside of three rounds.
