Months after losing to Billy Joe Saunders in a highly one-sided and largely degrading defeat at times in front of his home fans, Lemieux has decided to blame an injury for his humbling at the hands of the Briton.
Lemieux was schooled, for want of a better word, by Saunders back in December and his latest comments reek of sour grapes as his former opponent prepares for another title defense.
The comprehensive reverse couldn't really have been any more so, leaving fans stunned at Lemieux's rather delusional attempts to claw back some pride with a clearly unwarranted comment.
"Don't worry, you only beat an injured Lemieux. Revenge knocking you out will be gratifying, not just for me but especially the fans," said Lemieux, in a post which was greeted by several memes to the contrary.
The only thing that would happen in a rematch is the same thing except for it'd be happening in front of a British crowd that enthusiastically enjoyed the embarrassing loss for Lemieux as opposed to the Canadian crowd that was disappointed.
There's no escaping the fact the result was embarrassing but does he really not see that his behaviour in relation to that since the verdict is way more embarrassing?
